Don't wait! One of the top-value OLED TVs of the year is back on sale for just $599
LG's B5 OLED is packed with a surprising amount of features
In just a few short weeks, the book on 2025 will close, and TV-makers will begin to roll out their newest models ahead of the Spring. Right now, we're within a window where many of the most popular TVs of the year are more affordable than they've ever been — you just need to know where to look.
Case in point: One of my favorite OLED TVs of the year is back down to the same price we saw on the morning of Black Friday. The 48-inch LG B5 is just $599 at Best Buy, which is $700 off its original price. How did the B5 manage to climb into my list of favorite OLEDs this year? It's all about value.
Looking for an incredible OLED picture without the high price? The LG B5 is the perfect pick. It's not as bright as higher-end OLED TVs, but you still get to bask in the glory of OLED display technology. Dedicated gamers will appreciate the B5's array of sought-after features, which includes four HDMI 2.1 inputs, support for 4K gaming at 120Hz, VRR and FreeSync.
The 48-inch version of the B5 is a Best Buy exclusive, but here's where you can find the best price on the remaining sizes, all of which are on sale, too:
55-inch: $896 @ Amazon
65-inch: $996 @ Amazon
77-inch: $1,499 @ Best Buy
83-inch: $2,499 @ Best Buy
The B5 may not be as bright or as colorful as higher-end OLEDs (especially those equipped with quantum dots), but it still does what regular LCD/LED TVs can't do.
Like all OLEDs, each of the LG B5's millions of pixels is self-illuminating. This has a hugely positive impact on picture quality. It's capable of perfect black levels and pixel-level dimming, eliminating the light bloom you might've noticed on backlit LED TVs.
While it's true that higher-end LG OLEDs will net you better brightness than the B5, you're still getting OLED performance with LG's entry-level set. Even in its entry-level form, OLED is a visual treat. If you've been waiting for an affordable entry point to the world of OLED, the B5 is just the ticket.

As far as features go, I've got good news: The B5 offers many of the same bells and whistles as higher-end OLEDs like the LG C5 and the LG G5. This is particularly positive news for dedicated gamers, because they're getting basically everything they need for current-gen consoles. The B5 supports 4K gaming at 120Hz and comes with Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), AMD FreeSync and G-Sync compatibility.
Most importantly, all four of the LG B5's HDMI inputs offer HDMI 2.1 compatibility. For a $599, 48-inch TV, that's not easy to come by.
Check out our full LG B5 OLED review to get the full scoop on why we love this entry-level OLED. It's one of the best LG OLED TVs you can buy at the moment if your priority is saving as much money as you can. As mentioned, the 48-inch B5 is a Best Buy exclusive, but you'll find that all sizes in the series are currently on sale as the year ends.
