Formula 1 fans rejoice, Apple is adding an all-new F1 experience to Apple Maps

Apple is really into Formula 1 these days. Not only did it have a hand in producing last year's F1 movie (starring Brad Pitt), it's also acquired the U.S. streaming rights to the 2026 F1 season. So, to celebrate that, and the company's new love of motorsport, it's added a new Formula 1 experience to Apple Maps.

This experience is initially centered around the upcoming Australian Grand Prix, which will take place on March 8. Though MacRumors notes other tracks have been given new 3D graphics to a lesser extent. So you should check out the likes of Silverstone, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Miami International Autodrome, Circuit de Monaco and other major F1 locations.

But there's a promise that other experiences are to come, and presumably that means there will be a new experience for each race on the calendar. So we might see the Chinese and Japanese Grand Prix experiences land on Apple Maps before their respective race days next month.

F1 fans will be able to browse detailed circuit maps in Apple Maps, showcasing all 14 turns, realistic kerbs, footbridges, grandstands and even a 3D version of the Pit Garage. Anyone actually attending the race in person will likewise be able to use this experience to help find their way around.

For them, Apple Maps offers markers for key landmarks around the Grand Prix circuit, Melbourne city landmarks and pop-up locations around the race site. Plus, walking directions so they can actually get around quickly and easily

You can access the new Melbourne Grand Prix circuit in the Apple Maps app on your device of choice. Or if you'd rather explore it on a big screen, it's also possible to gain access from the Apple TV Formula 1 channel.

Apple has also confirmed it will "amplify" the sport across other channels, including Apple News, Apple Music, Apple Sports and even Apple Fitness+. Quite how that will work has yet to be seen, but it shows that Apple is going to pull out every stop to make sure its F1 investment does not go to waste.
