Google's smart home lineup could get a shakeup soon, mostly centered around the inclusion of Gemini and updated Nest devices (via Android Headlines). It begins with a new "Google Home Premium" subscription that will allegedly replace the current Nest Aware system.

Right now, most Google Home functions are free, except for Nest device tools, which require a Nest Aware subscription to really use the smart home products.

This leak comes as Google is planning to replace Google Assistant in Google Home with its AI assistant Gemini. Last week, when Google made the announcement, it also revealed that Gemini would be available in both "free and paid versions."

According to Android Headlines, those paid versions could be "Google Home Premium" and "Google Home Premium Advanced," which would potentially replace Nest Aware Plus. Plus adds 24/7 recording and stores more footage for longer than the base Nest Aware.

A Gemini-powered Home speaker already leaked around the Pixel 10 launch last week, but Android Headlines is reporting that we'll also see a new Nest Indoor Cam, Nest Outdoor Cam and a Nest Doorbell.

The Indoor Cam was last updated in 2022, but the third generation will apparently come in multiple colors, including "Snow, Berry, and Hazel." It's supposed to get an increase to 2K HDR resolution, a bump over the 1080p in the current camera.

It'll have 6x digital zoom and three-hour video previews with one hour of locally stored video. It'll still require a paid subscription for more, but it could help you in a pinch if WiFi goes down.

The Outdoor cam is wired (so the wireless version isn't getting an update) and comes in Snow or Hazel. It looks like it will get similar upgrades to the new Indoor cam.

Finally, like the cameras, the new Nest Doorbell will come in multiple colors: Snow, Hazel and Linen. It is also getting an upgraded 2K resolution. Again, the features of the new indoor and outdoor cameras are coming to the doorbell.

Another feature coming to all three devices is something dubbed Daily Summaries that will show you a daily recap of recorded events. This will reportedly be recreated via Gemini.

No release date was revealed in the leak, but the Gemini replacement is supposed to launch in October. It stands to reason this new hardware could launch then as well.
