Building your Le Creuset collection can be a joyous hobby, but paying for it can be a little expensive. While Le Creuset is retiring an iconic color, this could be your opportunity to pick up the rest of your collection, for less.

When it comes to Le Creuset, aside from the premium cast-iron cookware being great for whipping up meals in the kitchen, it's also a collector's dream.

Building a curated set from your favorite colors is surely top of every wedding registry or 30-something's birthday wishlist, but this cookware can also be really expensive.

Picking which color(s) you want can also become increasingly complicated when Le Creuset introduces brand new sets, like the matte black Gourmand Collection, and, in turn, retires old ones. And right now, it's retiring one seriously iconic color.

While it's sad, that does mean you can pick up a bargain and complete your set, or build an entirely new one, for a discount price.

What's being retired?

isThe iconic color Le Creuset are in the process of retiring is Caribbean, a wonderful gradient of blues.

As Le Creuset describes it: "Tropical. Vibrant. Cool. Caribbean is a sun-bleached splash of turquoise waters."

Launched as a calming collection, Caribbean brings in shades of deeper and lighter blues alongside white to mix in with other pieces in your Le Creuset collection or general kitchen cookware.

Fortunately, other blue collections are steering clear of retirement (for now), including Marseille, Agave and Sage.

But, while you can start a new collection or bring in accompaniments, now is the time to strike if you want to grab a bargain on the Caribbean, before it's gone.
