"What began with a call ... became a calling," proclaims the tagline for season 3 of "The Night Agent," the Netflix spy thriller from TV vet Shawn Ryan ("The Shield," "The Unit") that follows a low-level FBI Agent whose dead-end job in the White House basement gets exponentially more exciting — and dangerous — when a mysterious phone call propels him into a fast-moving government conspiracy.

Quick Guide: 'The Night Agent' season 3

  • Release Date: February 19, 2026 (Netflix)
  • Lead Star: Gabriel Basso as Peter Sutherland
  • Core Plot: Peter embarks on a "monomaniacal" mission to hunt a traitor while haunted by his alliance with Jacob Monroe.
  • New Locations: Istanbul, Mexico City, and New York.
  • Showrunner: Shawn Ryan ("The Shield")

And "The Night Agent" fans got an early peek at the action-packed new season with an official trailer, released today, January 21: The two-minute teaser sees Sutherland still haunted by the uneasy alliance he made with his nemesis, the shady broker Jacob Monroe (Louis Herthum), back in season 2. "I made a deal with the devil," Peter laments in the trailer. "Saved a lot of lives, but now every time something goes wrong, I gotta wonder if I'm responsible. It's only a matter of time before the next attack."

“I think now that Peter isn’t having to balance his personal life and work life, he’s become more monomaniacal,” the Brasso told Netflix’s Tudum. “Whether that’s a defense mechanism or whether it’s for the better, I guess it’s up to the viewer to decide. As for me, I enjoyed being able to fully commit to a capable and more focused version of Peter.”

We also see the titular agent buddy up with a brand-new character, relentless journalist Isabel De Leon (played by "Lioness" actress Genesis Rodriguez), in trying to expose the elusive broker, stop a terrorist attack and unpack corruption at the highest levels of government. "I need your help to figure out who's behind this," Peter pleads in the new clip.

Along the way, there will be all of the motorcycle chases, gun fights and high-octane drama fans have come to expect from the thriller. Per Netflix, the official season 3 logline reads: “Coming off the explosive events of season two, Night Agent Peter Sutherland is called in to track down a young Treasury Agent who fled to Istanbul with sensitive government intel after killing his boss. This kicks off a sequence of events where Peter investigates a dark money network while avoiding its paid assassins, putting him on a collision course with a relentless journalist. Working together, they uncover buried secrets and old grudges that threaten to bring the government to its knees — and get them both killed in the process.”

Along with Gabriel Brasso and Genesis Rodriguez, "The Night Agent" season 3 will feature Fola Evans-Akingbola, Louis Herthum, Ward Horton, Albert Jones, David Lyons, Jennifer Morrison, Stephen Moyer, Callum Vinson, Amanda Warren and Suraj Sharma.

“We’re so excited to bring new thrills, new worlds, new stunts, new characters, and new adventures to our fans in Season 3,” series creator Shawn Ryan told Tudum. “Thanks so much for devouring Season 2, and we look forward to bringing you a bigger and even better Season 3.”
