Widely considered by many to be the best anime series of all time, "Cowboy Bebop" is perfect as a first-time watch or a 1000th time return. Spike Spiegel is a laid-back bounty hunter whose life is quietly coming apart long before the first episode even begins.

Along with ex-cop Jet Black aboard the spaceship Bebop, he chases criminals across the solar system just to keep food on the table. Things get even messier when the pair picks up a con artist named Faye Valentine, a genius hacker kid called Ed, and a data dog named Ein, turning their cramped ship into a chaotic makeshift family.

At least, that's the plan: Grab bounties, get paid and move on. But Spike’s past (and a former flame) refuses to stay buried. His history with a powerful crime syndicate keeps bleeding into the present, and one day he's not going to be able to outrun the pain or his pursuers.

Rudo lives in the slums under a huge floating city, where the rich toss their trash into a bottomless chasm called the Pit. He scavenges through what everyone else throws away, turning junk into something useful and trying to scrape together a living with his adoptive father, Regto. For the people above, he's just another “tribesfolk” they can blame for anything that goes wrong.

That prejudice finally catches up with him when Rudo is suddenly framed for a brutal murder. He's dragged to the Pit and tossed in, and things only begin to worsen from there. Down there, survival is supposed to be impossible. Instead, Rudo discovers a power that lets him turn trash into deadly weapons and meets a group of “Cleaners” who fight the Pit’s trash beasts head-on. He's just found a way to get his revenge on those who framed him.

Frieren is an elven mage who helped defeat the Demon King with a legendary party of heroes years ago. Centuries pass after their victory, and the party eventually disbands, with their human leader eventually dying of old age. Then Frieren has to reckon with how little she truly understood the people who fought beside her. She had all the time in the world and still let it pass without really knowing them.

Years later, Frieren sets off on a new journey with a young apprentice and a warrior priest, retracing parts of the original party’s path. It might seem like a simple trip to the past, but it's a way for Frieren to better understand the personalities and lives of those who fought with her while honoring the bonds she makes in the present.
