Star Wars on 4K Blu-ray is the collection every fan needs to start now
Streaming is fine, but a 4K Star Wars shelf is forever
Star Wars on 4K Blu-ray is one of the few corners of physical media that genuinely justifies the shelf space, and May the 4th is the obvious moment to start treating it seriously.
The 4K transfers are the best the saga has ever looked, with HDR doing real work on everything from the sands of Tatooine to the rain on Kamino, and the audio mixes leave every streaming version sounding flat by comparison.
Disney's catalog on 4K isn't enormous, which is part of the appeal — it's a finite, achievable collection rather than an open-ended subscription. Prices have settled into a sensible range, too, with most of the main releases easy to track down and only the steelbooks asking for a real financial commitment.
These are the Star Wars 4K Blu-rays worth building a collection around, and what better time to start than Star Wars Day?
