What to expect in 'Mayor of Kingstown' season 4

When it comes to season 4, it looks like we'll pick up directly after Mike's clandestine meeting with Russian mobster Milo Sunter (Aidan Gillen) in season 3's finale, which didn't solve all of the McLusky's problems, unfortunately. From there, the series will explore what looks to be another series full of twists and turns as well as new glimpses of Mike and his new acquaintances, including Edie Falco's Nina Hobbes.

“Mike’s control over Kingstown is threatened as new players compete to fill the power vacuum left in the Russians’ wake, compelling him to confront the resulting gang war and stop them from swallowing the town,” according to the official season 4 description. “Meanwhile, with those he loves in more danger than ever before, Mike must contend with a headstrong new warden to protect his own while grappling with demons from his past.”

It's clear that all the deadly deeds Mike has committed are catching up to him. Though one gang is out of the picture, another has risen, like cutting the head off a hydra. How they'll all interact with each other has yet to be seen, but in addition to the police warden Hobbes, Mike will be facing new characters Frank Moses (Lennie James) and Cindy Stephens (Laura Benanti), though little is known about their respective roles in season 4 just yet.

According to Paramount, we'll see familiar faces returning as well: Hugh Dillon as detective Lt. Ian Ferguson, Taylor Handley as Lt. Kyle McLusky, Mike's younger brother and Ian's partner, Tobi Bamtefa as drug kingpin Deverin "Bunny" Washington, Derek Webster as detective Steview, Hamish Allan-Headley as police sergeant Robert Sawyer, and Nishi Munshi as Kyle's wife Tracy.

There was a litany of explosive betrayals, deaths and changes with season 3 of "Mayor of Kingstown," but that looks like just the beginning. Season 4 is already sounding like a wild ride, so if you're ready to strap in, be seated for its October premiere.
