Netflix top 10 movies — here’s the 3 worth watching right now
Check out these trending Netflix movies that are actually worth the hype

'Tis the season of pumpkin spice and apple picking, bringing with it a bounty of new movies to watch across the best streaming services. But with so much on offer, narrowing down what to watch next can become yet another item on your daunting weekend to-do list.
That's why whenever I have zero clue what to watch, I head to the Netflix top 10 list to cut through the noise quickly. Sure, they're not all guaranteed to be winners, but you can usually find a few gems among the over-hyped duds. With that in mind, each week, I comb through Netflix's ranking of the most-watched movies on its platform to highlight which ones are actually worth your time, so you can skip the scrolling and get to streaming.
This week, that includes a mystery thriller starring Keira Knightley that'll keep you glued to your seat, a feel-good drama about a dog, and the earworm-filled hit of the summer from the animation team behind the "Spider-Verse" films.
Not feeling any of these picks? For even more streaming recommendations, be sure to check out our guide to everything new on Netflix this month. So, without further ado, let’s dive into the three must-watch movies in Netflix’s top 10.
This article is based on Netflix's top 10 movies list in the U.S. as of 11:00 a.m. ET on Saturday, October 11.

Movies are my happy place, and I'm here every weekend highlighting the new-to-streaming gems (and none of the duds) to help you take the guesswork out of what to watch next. See what's on Alyse's weekend watchlist here!
Best movies in the Netflix top 10
'The Woman in Cabin 10' (2025)
Netflix users can’t seem to get enough of mystery thrillers (myself included), so it's no surprise to see this latest original starring Keira Knightley immediately shoot to the #1 spot. It’s the kind of breezy, suspenseful flick that’s tailor-made for a weekend movie night, and once the central mystery kicks into gear, it’s easy to get sucked into its twists and turns. That said, it’s best to manage your expectations. Personally, I think Jodie Foster handled a similar set-up better in "Flightplan," though that’s not exactly a cinematic masterpiece either.
Knightley stars as journalist Laura “Lo” Blacklock, who boards a luxury yacht for what’s meant to be a routine assignment. In the dead of night, she witnesses a woman being thrown overboard from Cabin 10, but when she sounds the alarm, the crew insists everyone's accounted for and there was never anyone in that cabin. So what does any journalist worth their salt do? Start digging, of course. Her search for answers soon becomes a fight for survival as she tries to unravel the truth behind what really happened that night.

'Caramelo' (2025)
"Caramelo" is exactly the kind of heartwarming weekend pick-me-up that I needed after a grueling work week (thanks, Prime Day). Writer-director Diego Freitas delivers a beautifully crafted São Paulo tale about an unruly stray dog, a young chef (Rafael Vitti), and the unexpected bond that forms between them after a medical diagnosis shatters his carefully laid life plans. Their friendship becomes an emotional anchor for him in an uncertain time, offering not just comfort but laughter and a renewed sense of purpose in the face of life's toughest challenges.
The story doesn’t stray far from familiar feel-good beats. You've got the obligatory scenes of the dog running amok in the kitchen, the snooty food critic who needs impressing, and the ambitious sous chef who elevates humble Brazilian comfort food into high-end fare. But it’s all told with enough charm and heart — not to mention some seriously delicious-looking food — that you're happy to get swept away in its rose-colored vibes.

'K-Pop Demon Hunters' (2025)
Netflix's biggest hit of the summer, "K-Pop Demon Hunters," is still topping Netflix's streaming charts for its fourth month in a row, and that means I'm not done shouting from the rooftops about how everyone needs to see this movie. I'm not even a K-pop fan, and I had an absolute blast with this one. So much so that when the sing-along version came to theaters in August, I rounded up some friends to go and seal the Honmoon together. If you enjoyed Sony Pictures Animation's other blockbusters like the "Spider-Verse" films or "The Mitchells vs. the Machines," this is one you won't want to miss.
This bubble-gum pop animated adventure follows chart-topping idols Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong), and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo) — a hit K-pop trio who moonlight as demon hunters using their harmony to keep supernatural forces at bay. But they finally meet their match when a group of demons disguised as a rival boy band comes for their crown (and the souls of their fans). With everything they've worked so hard for on the line, the trio gears up to slay the day, but victory will mean conquering their own inner demons first.
