Like all the best streaming services, Netflix delivers a steady stream of new TV shows and movies every week, and as Sunday is March 1, the streamer is poised to welcome another batch of releases to the lineup. If you're looking to spend your weekend on the sofa (and your streaming time's not reserved for binge-watching "Bridgerton" season 4 part 2), but you don't know what you're going to watch yet, allow me to help.
I've scrolled through the list of everything new on Netflix this week (and what's coming to Netflix in March 2026) and put together a list of three watchlist-worthy picks that I think you should consider streaming this week. You can find more info about my three new to Netflix recommendations below.
'Chef' (2014)
If you're in the mood for a feel-good watch, the 2014 slice-of-life comedy/drama "Chef" is coming to Netflix this Sunday, and I can't think of a better watch to wind down with — just don't watch it on an empty stomach, as the food looks incredible.
In "Chef," we follow Carl Casper (Favreau, who wrote, directed, and stars) as he quits his role as head chef at a major LA restaurant after a disagreement with the owner (Dustin Hoffman). Without a new job to go to (and with the aid of some old friends), Carl launches a food truck with the help of some of his nearest and dearest, offering him a new outlet that sees Carl rediscovering his passion for food and reigniting his spark in the process.

'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning' (2023)
I wanted one of my recommendations to be something you could stream right away, and if you're looking for all-out action, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to stream "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning."
This explosive action thriller set the wheels in motion for last year's maybe-finale, "Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning," and sees action hero Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF allies tracking down a terrifying new enemy: a rogue AI agent. Hunt and Co. work to try and prevent the means of controlling "The Entity" from falling into the wrong hands, leading viewers on another globe-trotting adventure that boasts more of the incredible stunts and world-ending stakes that you'd expect of a "Mission: Impossible" adventure.

'The Green Knight' (2021)
David Lowery's epic dark fantasy "The Green Knight" is probably a more divisive recommendation than the other two picks on this list.
It was well-recommended by critics (it's 89% on Rotten Tomatoes), but split moviegoers down the middle (50% on the Popcornmeter), though I'm determined to recommend it all the same. "The Green Knight" is a surreal adaptation of the Arthurian legend, and follows Sir Gawain (Dev Patel) on a daring quest to confront the titular figure. En route to face his ultimate test and prove his mettle, Gawain contends with all manner of challenges. It's a meticulous, stunning, and cryptic watch, but one that's definitely worth investigating.

Martin is a Streaming Writer at Tom’s Guide, covering all things movies and TV. If it’s in the theaters or available to stream somewhere, he’s probably watched it… especially if it has a dragon in it. Before joining the team, he was a Staff Writer at What To Watch where he wrote about a broad range of shows that stretched from "Doctor Who" and "The Witcher" to "Bridgerton" and "Love Island". When he’s not watching the next must-see movie or show, he’s probably still in front of a screen playing massive RPGs, reading, spending a fortune on TCGs, or watching the NFL.
