Marvel just revealed Elizabeth Olsen’s return as Scarlet Witch in new Disney Plus series

Ever since "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," plenty of Marvel fans have been waiting to see if and when Elizabeth Olsen would make a comeback as the Scarlet Witch, and thanks to a recent teaser, we now know when we'll see Wanda Maximoff on our screens again.
Scarlet Witch returns to Disney Plus and the Marvel Cinematic Universe this month in Marvel's upcoming adult animated miniseries, "Marvel Zombies," which starts streaming on Wednesday, September 24.
A blood-soaked trailer for the new four-part event dropped earlier this week (September 2), showing heroes like Yelena, Shang-Chi, Blade, Red Guardian and Spider-Man taking on the walking dead.
While the most memorable shot from the entire teaser has to be Spidey using his webs to tear the heads off a bunch of shambling horrors, you can also spy a zombified Scarlet Witch around the 1-minute mark, right after Thor arrives.
It's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it close-up, but it depicts zombie Scarlet Witch seemingly controlling the hordes of undead for her own aims. Reports claim she's the primary villain of the series
How do we know it's Elizabeth Olsen? Well, reports confirming her involvement circulated a while back, for one, but right after a very violent display from this timeline's Blade in the trailer, a voice cast list appears ... and Olsen's at the top of the list.
You can also see her wielding her magical powers in "Marvel Zombies" key art, surrounded by zombified versions of Captain America, Hawkeye and more:

"Marvel Zombies" is set in the alternate timeline introduced in the "What If... Zombies?!" episode (which aired in 2021), wherein most of the population including the Avengers into undead nightmares.
Marvel's synopsis for the four-part event reads: "After the Avengers are overtaken by a zombie plague, a desperate group of survivors discover the key to bringing an end to the super-powered undead, racing across a dystopian landscape and risking life and limb to save their world."
Given Zombie Scarlet Witch (also known as "The Dead Queen") is reportedly the primary antagonist, taking her down will surely be a key priority for our survivors.
Along with Elizabeth Olsen, the voice cast includes many of our MCU faves, such as Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Tessa Thompson, Simu Liu, Hailee Steinfeld, Wyatt Russell, Randall Park, Iman Vellani, Awkwafina and Dominique Thorne (among others).
And after "Marvel Zombies" airs, we'll just have to hold out hope for a big-screen return for one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Kevin Feige: get on it.
