VPN Deal of the Week: CyberGhost is down to $1.75 per month – and it's ideal for streamers
Streaming unblocking power is excellent, but it lacks extra features
CyberGhost has dropped its price to $1.75 per month ($45.50 upfront, pre-tax) – its cheapest price in quite some time.
The two-year plan sees you get two extra months free, and a generous 45-day money-back guarantee – which beats the 30-day standard offered by most rivals.
CyberGhost is a close challenger to the best VPNs, and has consistently been one of the cheapest VPNs out there. This price drop sees it cost less than most major VPNs, with only PrivadoVPN having a lower monthly price.
It's not the most feature-packed VPN, but CyberGhost has a particular focus on streaming – something it does very well. If unblocking content is your priority, this deal is hard to ignore.
CyberGhost | $1.75 per month | 2 Years + 2 months FREE
CyberGhost was already an affordable VPN, but cheap just got cheaper. It's secure and great for streaming. But it's not the fastest, and does lack some features.
What you'll get...
📺 Excellent streaming unblocking
🌍 Servers in 100 countries and 125 locations
🚀 600+ Mbps speeds
📱 Protection for up to 7 devices on one plan
A 26 month plan costs $1.75 per month ($45.50 upfront pre-tax) and comes with a 45-day money-back guarantee.
Great for streaming
Streaming is CyberGhost's strongest suit, and our latest round of testing backs that up. It unblocked every service we tried across the US, UK, Australia, and Japan – including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and YouTube.
BBC iPlayer and 10Play needed a few attempts, but both were successfully unblocked.
To get the best results, you'll need to manually select one of CyberGhost's streaming-optimized servers. These are available in most major locations, so it shouldn't be a hassle.
Peak speeds hit 674 Mbps on WireGuard, which isn't class-leading, but is more than enough for smooth streaming, gaming, and browsing.
Beyond streaming, CyberGhost operates RAM-only servers, which span 100 countries and 125 locations worldwide. It's no-logs policy has also bee audited.
Seven devices are protected on one plan, and free trials are available on all major platforms – 24 hours on Windows and macOS, three days on Android, and seven days on iOS.
Lacking extra features
CyberGhost is safe and secure, but it trails its rivals when it comes to features and speed.
PrivadoVPN (2,334 Mbps), Windscribe (2,263 Mbps), Proton VPN (1,475 Mbps), and NordVPN (1,249 Mbps) all recorded significantly faster peak speeds in our testing, making CyberGhost look pedestrian by comparison. However, CyberGhost is more than fast enough for 4K streaming, considering Netflix only requires speeds of 25 Mbps.
The feature set is similarly thin. Split tunneling is only available for Windows and Android, and there's no Double VPN or obfuscation – so it won't help you in restrictive regions like China. Rivals like NordVPN and Proton VPN offer all of these as standard.
At $1.75 per month, CyberGhost isn't trying to be the most powerful VPN on the market, and that's fine. It's safe, affordable, and excellent for streaming.
