ExpressVPN Advanced hits the sweet spot
The reason for ExpressVPN's switch to a tiered subscription model was to give users more control and choice over the features they pay for. If you're just after a VPN, you don't need to subscribe to a plan that includes a load of extra features – you don't need to pay for it either.
For me, ExpressVPN Advanced hits the sweet spot in balancing value for money and extra features.
Alongside the core VPN features, you'll receive access to at least three more privacy apps – ExpressMailGuard, ExpressKeys, and most of Identity Defender. Only ExpressMailGuard is included with ExpressVPN Basic plans.
ExpressMailGuard acts as a "VPN for email" and allows you to create email aliases to protect your real email address from scams and trackers.
ExpressKeys is ExpressVPN's password manager, giving you the ability to create and store secure passwords. Identity Defender provides ID theft protection through credit monitoring, Dark Web data alerts, a data removal service, and insurance coverage up to $3 million – however Identity defender is currently a US exclusive.
