What makes ExpressVPN a great gaming VPN?
Using a VPN while gaming is a handy way to avoid hackers, improve performance, and access geo-restricted content.
ExpressVPN's speeds mean you shouldn't experience any lag or buffering during your gaming sessions. It's not the very fastest VPN out there, but its 1,600+ Mbps Lightway Turbo and 600+ Mbps WireGuard speeds won't slow you down.
By masking your IP address, gaming VPNs reduce the risk of ISP throttling. This can reduce ping and ensure your gameplay is smooth and uninterrupted. By adding a layer of encryption to your data, you're also protected against any hackers that may be lurking in lobbies.
ExpressVPN has 3,000+ servers in 188 countries worldwide, giving you plenty of locations to choose to game from. In addition, you should have no trouble connecting to a server based in your home country, should you be gaming from abroad.
All major gaming consoles are compatible with ExpressVPN and the VPN's website has a range of guides on how to set it up.
We test and review VPN services in the context of legal recreational uses. For example: 1. Accessing a service from another country (subject to the terms and conditions of that service). 2. Protecting your online security and strengthening your online privacy when abroad. We do not support or condone the illegal or malicious use of VPN services. Consuming pirated content that is paid-for is neither endorsed nor approved by Future Publishing.
