I've been building PCs since I was 10 — that's over 20 years now. For at least the last 10 years, there's only one brand of SSD that I use in my builds, at least for my primary OS disk: Samsung. I have two Samsung SSDs in my current gaming rig — they're fast, reliable and now cheaper than ever in October Prime Day deals.

Right now, the Samsung 990 EVO Plus 1TB SSD is just $59 at Amazon, which is its lowest ever price, while the 4TB model is also on sale at just $199 — another rock bottom price.

Samsung's 990 PRO models are also on sale, and the best deals are on the heatsink models, ideal for PS5 players. The Samsung 990 PRO 4TB SSD w/ Heatsink is currently $125 at Amazon and its lowest ever price.

Not every deal is a good deal, with some prices inflated above their typical level in the run-up to the sales event. Some SSDs are also only moderately discounted. I have access to price tracking information, so I've only included the strong deals here.
