Act fast! Sony WH-1000XM5 is $100 off and one of the best early Black Friday headphone deals
A solid savings on one of the best headphones you can buy
I've already seen plenty of deals over the last couple of weeks, as Black Friday careens down the highway with a crazed look in its eyes. But none are quite as tempting as this massive saving on Sony's venerable WH-1000XM5 noise-canceling headphones — and it might be unmissable.
Right now, the Sony WH-1000XM5 are down to $297 at Amazon after a $100 discount. That brings them treacherously close to their lowest price ever. I'm not sure they'll go much lower than this over Black Friday proper, so now might be the time to pick some up.
The Sony WH-1000XM5 were our pick for the best headphones for a long time thanks to a lightweight, comfortable fit, excellent sound, and great ANC. There are plenty of features on board, and 30 hours of battery to ensure they'll last you through the day. This is close to their lowest price, so well worth grabbing!
The Sony WH-1000XM5 are a great pair of headphones. Despite the launch of the WH-1000XM6, they're still a brilliant option if you're looking for something that blocks loads of noise while playing sweet, sweet music.
And sweet, sweet music it is as well. Some would argue they actually sound better than the XM6, but it's probably closer to the truth to say that they sound "different." They've got a wider soundstage than the XM6, and pay closer attention to detail and bass control. The XM6, on the other hand, are all about vocal clarity and the liveliness of the sound — it'll all come down to "whatever floats your boat." For the record, I prefer the sound of the XM5.
They're barely a step back in features as well. There are five fewer channels in their EQ adjustment, and the ANC is slightly less effective than the new model. You get the same amount of battery, though, to the tune of 30 hours.
They're not the newest model, but they're still some of the best noise-canceling headphones you can buy today. And at this price, they're something of a bargain.
