iPhone Tethering Finally Coming to AT&T With 4.0?
Could it be only a year late?
iPhone users on AT&T who haven't resorted to jailbreaking their devices are still waiting on tethering despite it being announced as a new feature of the iPhone OS 3.0 last year.
Now new evidence from the iPhone OS 4.0 beta suggests that this simple feature could be headed to AT&T customers this summer. The screenshot below, from the MacRumors forum, was captured from the unfinished OS, which shows a popup menu that instructs the user on how to proceed to set up internet tethering. Of course, don't hold your breath that it'll be a free feature.

Just realized the above news box has 4 tabs, one of them is "Apple"Seriously toms, Apple does not deserve that special treatment!
I think they did that as part of the separation plan they mentioned so that people could pick and choose which news to follow.

The APPLE tab is only because the story is about apple. Open other stories and you will see other tabs, related to the story.

Well seems I owe toms an apology about jumping to conclusions about the apple tab. Just tired of all the apple hype. They are a crappy company. Terrible, monopolistic, company with no morals, or ethics whatsoever. They should be sued into oblivion for their closed platform, anti-competitive practices.
They could come out with Iphone OS 10 and I still wouldn't buy that POS

Seems like you have been duped by all the apple hype. I had to kill time the other day, so I went to best buy and heckled the idiots that were staring at the ipad. One guy was talking about how its so cool. I said yeah it is lets watch hulu. So he tried to bring it up and guess what nope. Another guy wanted to watch a video he had on facebook. It took him 10 minutes to get there because either the screen wasnt calibrated or the ipads touch is terrible, but once he got there guess what? couldnt watch it because its flash.

Why thank you sir. I did it because I used to buy apple ipods. I had a first gen which was awesome. At the time I couldnt believe how much I used it. Then a third gen. Then a video ipod that was stolen. Had a couple of nano's too. The only thing I complained about was no divx and itunes. Then my video was stolen and apple wouldnt help me out by tracking the serial number. Then I bought a touch. The next week they wanted to charge me 20 bucks to upgrade it to a new os. The touch went on ebay, and I havent bought anything apple since. I just think that all the cards should be laid on the table. Those two would have bought it thinking that they could do things that apple doesnt approve of like flash. Everyone is like who cares it wont do flash. Well I do and so does everyone that just wants to use facebook, hulu, youtube, espn, and the list goes on and on.....

You are looking at an article specific to an Apple product. Go to an article specific on Intel and you will see an Intel tab that allows you to find other related (to Intel) news. Same is true for other major manufacturers. This isn't a site-wide change where Apple is featured, it's a targeted Apple specific. If you don't want to see Apple news, please stop clicking on the articles and posting crybaby posts.

hmm... I thought this article is talking "finally" AT&T will be offering Tethering service for iPhone customers.
Why people just keep jumping on Apple which is not even the point of the story.
iPhone tethering is already an old old news (last year). It is AT&T who still remains as the only (or one of the very few) iPhone carrier on the earth who still fail to offer Tethering service for iPhone.
I don't like those pointness Apple/MS/ or whatever news...
but to be fair... this is an AT&T news and iPhone OS4 is just the hint to suggest that AT&T may "finally" offer this service when iPhone OS4 arrive.
This can be a very important news for current iPhone customers in the US.
We are all smart individuals... try to be a little more objective, and fair.
