New Shows on Netflix: December 2013
Netflix has a few presents for its subscribers to unwrap in the final month of 2013.
"Lilyhammer" (season 2 debuts Dec. 13)
It's either his way or Norway for Steven Van Zandt, who stars in season 2 of the Netflix original "Lilyhammer." Premiering Dec. 13, the series of eight one-hour episodes stars Van Zandt as Frank, "The Fixer" Tagliano, a mob fixer who trades the mean streets of New York City for witness protection in Norway.
Season 2 continues as Frank, who is now living as a successful nightclub owner and father of two, has his new life threatened when his former mob associates discover he is alive.
"Dexter" (seasons 5-8 debut Jan. 1)
The first four seasons of Showtime's "Dexter" became available to subscribers recently, and seasons 5-8 are coming on Jan. 1.

Netflix announced that it will launch the first original documentary available on the service.
From Emmy award-winning director Josh Greenbaum, "The Short Game" follows eight of the most competitive golfers around the world, who all happen to be under the age of 7 as they train and compete in the World Championships of Junior Golf.
"The Square" (debuts early 2014)
The streaming service is delving even deeper into the world of documentaries with the news that it acquired Jehane Noujaim's Egyptian protest documentary "The Square." The film, which will premiere in early 2014, tells the behind-the-headlines story of the Egyptian Revolution through the eyes of young activists.
"The Defenders" (debuts 2015)
Additionally, Netflix has signed a deal with Disney and Marvel to create four 13-episode individual series based around the characters Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. The four series will culminate in a miniseries titled "The Defenders," in which the heroes join forces. The series are set to kick off in 2015.
New Shows on Hulu: December 2013
Hulu has its own share of festive offerings.
"Moody Christmas" (debuted Nov. 29)
The Hulu exclusive, six-episode series "Moody Christmas" just debuted at the tail end of November and is now available to stream. The narrative comedy centers around the lovable but seasonally dysfunctional Moody family as they gather once a year to share the holiday season. Hijinks ensue as the Moodys crack under the pressure of their togetherness.

"The Bridge" (debuts winter 2014)
This 10-episode Hulu exclusive, which stars Sofia Helin, Saga Noren and Kim Bodnia, explores the chilling murder of a woman discovered on the border between Sweden and Denmark, which marks the beginning of a wave of violence.
"Moone Boy" (season 2 debuts winter 2014)
Chris O'Dowd wrote and stars in this semiautobiographical family comedy series about a young boy growing up in a chaotic and creative household in late 1980s Ireland. Dowd plays the imaginary friend of 11-year-old Martin, who is dealing with school bullies.
"Line of Duty" (season 2 debuts winter 2014)
The most popular drama series on BBC2 returns for a second season. Set in the fictional police anti-corruption unit AC-12, "Line of Duty" is a cat-and-mouse thriller that takes a probing look into modern policing and corruption through a multistranded inquiry over five hourlong episodes.
New Shows on Amazon Prime: December 2013
Amazon Prime's big news isn't necessarily the streaming service's online original show options, but a deal that will offer enough new film content on the site to stuff any stocking full.
The video on demand (VOD) service recently announced an exclusive agreement with new film studio A24, known for hit commercial films like "Spring Breakers" and "The Bling Ring." The deal makes Prime Instant Video the exclusive premium subscription home for all current and future A24 titles following their release on DVD and Blu-ray.
Ginger & RosaOther films in the deal include "Ginger & Rosa," starring Christina Hendricks and Elle Fanning, and "The Spectacular Now" starring Shailene Woodley. Upcoming releases include "Under the Skin," starring Scarlett Johansson, and "The Rover," starring Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson.

"Mr. Selfridge" (season 1)
The British period TV drama features Jeremy Piven as Harry Gordon Selfridge, owner of London department store Selfridge & Co.
"Fringe" (season 5)
The J.J. Abrams science fiction series combines elements from both procedural dramas and serials. The final season continues to follow the casework of a joint federal task force investigating unexplained occurrences related to a parallel universe.
"The Big Bang Theory" (season 7)
The popular sitcom created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady stars Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco.
