Today's the day you can finally get all the cool new iOS 8 features you've been hearing so much about. From more intuitive keyboard software to interactive notifications, improved Siri and Mail navigation and third-party TouchID support, there's a whole lot of goodness packed into the latest iOS.
As of 1:30 p.m. Eastern, the software update is available for download on your iPhones, iPods and iPads. iOS 8 will only run on iPhone 4s or later, iPad 2 and up, both iPad minis and the 5th-generation iPod Touch.

While the update is only a 1.1GB download, Apple requires at least 4.7GB of storage on an iPad mini and 5.8GB on an iPhone 5s for the new system. That's quite a lot for a 16GB device. Consider backing up your photos and videos to the cloud to make space for iOS 8.
The new operating system will come out of the box with every new iPhone 6, which will be available in stores starting Sept. 19. The new iPhone comes in two sizes -- 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch (Plus model). It also carries a faster A8 processor and sports a curvy new design.
