Amazon's Prime Day deals are official here, and that means there's never been a better time to buy a TV. It used to be you had to wait for Black Friday or Cyber Monday to score the lowest prices on the best TVs, but now there are incredible Prime Day TV deals that are as good as anything you'll find this upcoming holiday season.
My favorite deal, though, is this TCL QM6K deal. This is the TV I use every day to review shows and movies for Tom's Guide — and now it's under $500.
Yes, right now, you can get the TCL QM6K Mini-LED TV at Amazon for just $447. That's 25% off the list price and might just make it the best TV you can buy for under $500. It's also essentially the lowest price we've ever seen it, other than the brief moment when it was a dollar cheaper back in August.
The TCL QM6K is a great TV, and I'm not saying that. I watch dozens of shows and movies every year, and this is the TV I use the most. The picture quality is impressive, thanks to features like Filmmaker mode and Dolby Vision IQ HDR. You'll be hard-pressed to find a better TV for less. Price check: $449.99 @ Best Buy
In my TCL QM6K review, I raved about this "budget" Mini-LED TV. I put budget in quotes there because, while this TV has a low price point, it's far from budget performance. When I reviewed it, the list price was $799, and I thought it was fair value for your money even then.
The reasons to get this TV are pretty straightforward. First, it's loaded with features. It's a 4K TV using Google TV software, meaning it has a Chromecast built in. It also has support for HDR10, HDR 10+, HLG, Dolby Vision, Dolby Vision gaming and Dolby Vision IQ, and offers Filmmaker mode for those who love a pure movie viewing experience.
It's a great movie viewing experience, too. The 120Hz (up to 144Hz) Mini-LED panel looks excellent, even in brightly lit rooms, though admittedly, sometimes glare gets the better of it. Still, I use it in a room filled with natural light and have no issues watching it.
So if you're looking for a new TV or were thinking about upgrading this holiday season, don't wait. This TCL QM6K Amazon Prime Day deal is the best deal you're going to see on a TV under $500 that looks and performs like an $800 TV.
