While Apple's AirTags often get all the attention, they're far from the only Bluetooth trackers you can actually buy. There are plenty of other options, and my personal favorite is the Chipolo Pop. While it lacks some of the AirTag's more high-tech features, it offers a bunch more things that I find a lot more useful. The best part? They work with Android and iPhone.
Which is why I'm happy to see that the tracker has been discounted in Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days sale. You can pick up your own Chipolo Pop for $24 over at Amazon, which is $5 less than you'd normally have to pay. Alternatively, Amazon is selling the Chipolo Pop 4 Pack for $75. That's $14 off the retail price, and works out at just under $19 per tracker.
If you want an alternative to Apple's AirTag, then the Chipolo Pop is a fantastic option. Not only is it compatible with iPhone and Android, but it also includes extra features that Apple's tracker doesn't offer. Combined with the Prime Day discount, it's definitely worth thinking about adding this to your keys instead.
Like an AirTag, the Chipolo Pop is designed to help you hunt down things that never seem to want to stay where you can find them. Your keys, bags, wallets, luggage and so on. Everything is done by Bluetooth, which means you can hunt it down or activate the internal speaker using Apple's Find My app or Google's Find Hub.
It doesn't work with both networks simultaneously, though. It all depends on the kind of device you used to set up the Pop in the first place. Which is worth bearing in mind if you live in a multi-platform household. The Pop also lacks Ultrawideband support, which means you are more reliant on the speaker to help physically locate the fob.
Thankfully, that speaker is 120 dB, twice as loud as an AirTag, which shouldn't make it too difficult to locate.
But installing the Chipolo app, rather than simply relying on your phone's Find network, does offer some extra features. The ability to find your phone with the pop tracker is a big one, since it means you can hunt down your missing phone a little faster than you might otherwise be able to.
It also functions as a Bluetooth remote, letting you take selfies from a distance with the single tap of the tracker's button. Plus, you get to switch on the out-of-range alert, which sends you a notification if you've left your Pop tracker (and whatever it's attached to) behind.
If you need something to track your keys, the Chipolo Pop has a lot to offer — even if you're also an iPhone user. The only thing I'd change is to make them a little smaller. It's a little slimmer than an AirTag, and it fits into a wallet a little more comfortably, but it would be nice if it weren't nearly twice the size of a nickel.
