I sleep on my side and my husband sleeps on his back — the mattress we both love returns to its lowest price of the year
Buy a queen Helix Midnight Luxe for $1,751 in new Black Friday mattress sale
Black Friday is still weeks away but the savings on top-rated mattresses are rolling in thick and fast. First up, the Helix Midnight Luxe mattress is back to its lowest price of the year. That brings a queen down to $1,751 (from $2,398.66) when you use the code TOMS27 at checkout, which matches the strongest dollar-off discount we've seen all year on this luxury hybrid.
Helix is the brand behind some of the best mattresses of the year, crafting beds to suit all budgets and sleepers. The Helix Midnight Luxe is the mattress I'm currently sleeping on and is the bed I recommend to side sleepers. However, my husband is a back sleeper and (thankfully) finds this bed as comfortable as I do.
27% off sitewide is the same price reduction we saw in last year's Helix Black Friday mattress sale. However, waiting until closer to Black Friday itself could see the return of the free bedding bundle that we only tend to see around major sales events. We're also busy tracking the best Black Friday mattress sales from all our favorite brands, so it's worth checking out that page if you're still shopping around. Is the Midnight Luxe right for you? Let's take a closer look...
Helix Midnight Luxe: twin was $1,436 now $1,048.28 with code TOMS27 at Helix Sleep
We rate the Helix Midnight Luxe as one of the best hybrid mattresses you can buy, thanks to its blend of zoned support coils and plush memory foam comfort layers. It's the best mattress for side sleepers we've ever tested, but its medium-firm tension, robust support core and targeted lumbar support make it an excellent option for back sleepers too. The plush pillow top cover dampens motion across the top of the mattress (great news for bed sharers) and support along the edge is reliable too. The Luxe comes with a breathable Tencel cover as standard, but very hot sleepers have the option to update to two different cooling covers. Helix mattress sales typically range between 20% and 25% but the current mattress sale takes 27% off when you use our TOMS27 code at the checkout — that matches the biggest discount of the year.

Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro: twin was $932 now $652.40 at Brooklyn Bedding
If you're looking for a mattress that appeals to both side and back sleepers but can't stretch to the Midnight Luxe, the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid is the mattress I recommend instead. And at $932.40 for a queen (was $1,332) after a 30% off deal, it's exceptional value for money right now. Despite its lower price tag, it shares a lot of similarities to the Luxe; it has a plus pillow top cover, a coil support structure (which helps boost airflow throughout the mattress) and, like the best mattresses for back pain, has zoned lumbar support to keep aches and pains at bay. Plus, it's the best cooling mattress under $1,000 we've tested. The current deal is strong but 32% off the CopperFlex Pro is the best Brooklyn Bedding mattress sale we've seen on this bed so far this year, so it could be worth waiting until closer to Black Friday itself to buy at the lowest possible price.
