This 10-part animated series is set after the “Clone Wars” TV show and will see Maul attempt to rebuild his criminal empire while also seeking a new apprentice on the planet Janix.

“Apex” is one of Netflix’s big tentpole original movies for April, and it pits Charlize Theron against Taron Egerton in a battle for wilderness survival. The basic premise — a climbing enthusiast (Theron) is targeted by a ruthless hunter (Egerton) in the wilderness — sounds rather rudimentary for the survival thriller genre, but I’m banking on the strength of the two leads to elevate what could be a predictable tale to something more compelling. And if the combined strength of Theron and Egerton can’t do it, there’s always Eric Bana in support. — RM
