How to watch AFCON 2025: FREE live streams, preview, schedule
Egypt face Senegal and Nigeria take on Morocco in the AFCON semi-finals
A mouthwatering reunion between former teammates (and best of frenemies) Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane headlines the Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals, before tournament top-scorers Nigeria aim to dump out AFCON hosts and favorites Morocco.

The Pharoahs' route to the last four had made for tough viewing, but Hossam Hassan's switch to a 4-3-1-2 for clash Ivory Coast proved hugely effective. What they lost in possession they gained in fluidity, and Salah and Omar Marmoush both found the net in a 3-2 victory that was more comfortable than the scoreline suggests. However, Senegal, who beat Mali 1-0 courtesy of an Iliman Ndiaye strike, could find plenty of joy from set-pieces, especially with Kalidou Koulibaly and Nicolas Jackson in the lineup.
Although Salah and Mane brought the best out of each other across a five-year spell at Liverpool, it was more rivalry than a friendship, so there was little love lost when Senegal beat Egypt twice in quick succession — in the AFCON final and the World Cup Qualifying playoff — four years ago. Both games went to penalties and on both occasions Mane converted the winning spot-kick. Salah, meanwhile, didn't get to take his penalty in the former, and missed in the latter.
Speaking of uneasy teammates, Victor Osimhen went for Ademola Lookman during Nigeria's 2-0 victory over Algeria, with the friction between the respective 2023 and 2024 African Footballers of the Year serving to highlight why the Super Eagles failed to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. Algeria had looked one of the most cohesive teams in the competition, but Morocco will be an even tougher test. Walid Regragui's risky decision to drop Sofyan Amrabat against Cameroon paid off handsomely, getting the fans back on side in the nick of time. Brahim Diaz is the AFCON top scorer with seven.
