Trying to navigate Netflix, the world's biggest streaming service, can feel incredibly overwhelming when you are faced with a massive library and a relentless influx of brand-new content dropped every single week. It’s easy to get stuck, spending more time scrolling through endless genres than actually watching a film. That is precisely what makes the platform’s top 10 feature so incredibly handy as it gives you a curated snapshot of exactly what your fellow subscribers are streaming the most right now.

This week, the trending chart includes Millie Bobby Brown’s return as the sharp young detective Enola Holmes, Tom Holland’s first solo film as the iconic Spider-Man, and a tense mystery thriller from David Fincher. I’ve picked three essential films from Netflix's current top 10 that are absolutely worth your time. If you want to see what else is trending, the platform's complete, up-to-the-minute movie rankings are detailed below.

This article is based on Netflix's top 10 movies list in the U.S. as of Saturday, July 4, 2026.

‘Enola Holmes 3’ (2026)

I’m not surprised “Enola Holmes 3” has claimed the No. 1 spot on Netflix, given it’s one of the streamer’s biggest original releases of the month. This charming mystery movie is directed by Philip Barantini, who takes over the directorial reins for this third installment in Netflix’s massive tentpole franchise. Millie Bobby Brown returns to her signature role as Enola in this breezy summer film, injected with plenty of sharp banter and Mediterranean visuals. I can confidently say this is the best film in the franchise yet.

Enola (Millie Bobby Brown) travels to Malta for what should be her wedding to Lord Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge), but the celebration is abruptly interrupted when Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill) goes missing. She abandons the ceremony and begins investigating his disappearance, uncovering a complex case involving stolen wartime gold, and a conspiracy tied to a powerful political figure. As she works alongside her friends, she must balance her future and a case that only becomes more dangerous.

If you’re excited about “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” releasing this month, there’s no better time to rewatch Tom Holland’s other Spidey films, including his first proper outing, “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” This is the definition of a feel-good movie and proves that Holland is the perfect Peter Parker for a new generation. Thankfully, it doesn’t delve into his tragic backstory, since most fans are already familiar with it, and instead focuses on his awkwardness as a teen and a hero.

After his brief involvement with the Avengers, teenager Peter Parker (Tom Holland) returns to his everyday life in Queens while balancing school and his responsibilities as Spider-Man. Under the guidance of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), he is eager to prove himself as more than just a local hero. When a mysterious criminal named Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton) begins operating a dangerous weapons trade using advanced alien technology, Peter secretly investigates and attempts to stop him.

‘Gone Girl’ (2014)

This last film is less of a mood-booster and more of an intense thriller that keeps you hooked. Directed by master filmmaker David Fincher, “Gone Girl” is adapted from Gillian Flynn's own phenomenally successful 2012 bestselling novel. It feels like a dark satire wrapped in a true-crime-style investigation, breaking down the idea of the “perfect marriage” and turning the intimacy of a relationship into a highly weaponized psychological chess match.

On the morning of his fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) discovers that his wife Amy (Rosamund Pike) has disappeared from their Missouri home. As police launch an investigation, attention quickly turns toward Nick, whose behavior and inconsistent statements make him a prime suspect. Media coverage spreads, exposing details about the couple’s troubled marriage and past. Flashbacks reveal the early stages of their relationship and how it evolved over time.
