Norton VPN launches a new 2-year plan in line with its rivals – and it's exclusive to Tom's Guide readers
It has also doubled its number of simultaneous connections
Norton VPN has launched its first ever two-year plan, matching the length of plans commonly offered by its competitors. The plans are exclusive to Tom's Guide and our friends at TechRadar – you can't access them anywhere else.
Longer subscription periods cost more upfront, but work out cheaper per month than shorter plans. Two-year plans are the most common length of plan offered by the best VPNs, and are something of an industry standard.
On a two-year plan, Norton VPN Standard costs $2.49 per month ($59.76 upfront) and Norton VPN Plus costs $3.49 per month ($83.76 upfront). Norton's most complete plan, Norton VPN Ultimate, costs $4.49 per month ($107.76 upfront).
All three plans come with a 60-day money-back guarantee – longer than any other VPN – allowing you to claim a refund if you're not happy with your purchase. Be aware that each plan auto-renews at a higher rate, which is paid annually. Norton VPN makes this clear and you can cancel your renewal.

Two-year plans start at $2.49 per month ($59.76 upfront) and come with a 60-day money-back guarantee.
Longer plans and increased device connections
Launching two-year plans is a significant move for Norton VPN, and is a continuation of its efforts to challenge bigger names like NordVPN and ExpressVPN. Here are the new prices at a glance:
- Norton VPN Standard: $2.49 per month ($59.76 upfront)
- Norton VPN Plus: $3.49 per month ($83.76 upfront)
- Norton VPN Ultimate: $4.49 per month ($107.76 upfront)
All three plans auto-renew, at annual prices of $99.99, $119.99, and $149.99 respectively. Norton VPN makes this clear on its pricing and payment pages. However, it works out significantly more expensive, so we recommend cancelling your plan and re-subscribing at the cheaper rate when your initial two years runs out.
Norton VPN Standard
Norton VPN Standard comes with all the core VPN features you'd expect. This includes a reliable kill switch for all platforms, ad-blocker, and its proprietary protocol, Mimic. There's also IP rotation and Double VPN for extra security.
Norton VPN's no-logs policy and Mimic protocol have been independently audited. It has also recently cut down its data collection, and publishes quarterly transparency reports highlighting the requests it receives for your data. No data is shared to any third party, and all this goes a long way to reinforcing its strong reputation for privacy.
Norton VPN has over 3,000 servers worldwide – covering 107 locations in 66 countries – and it clocked speeds of over 1,700 Mbps in our testing. This makes it one of the fastest VPNs we've reviewed. It also performed well in our streaming tests, reliably unblocking every streaming service except US Amazon Prime Video and US YouTube.
You can protect up to 10 devices on one plan. This is double the five – or, in some cases, a measly one – Norton previously offered.
Plans used to cost $3.33 per month ($39.99 upfront) for a one year subscription. The switch to a two-year plan reduces the monthly cost to $2.49 per month ($59.76 upfront).
Norton VPN Plus
Norton VPN Plus includes all features mentioned above and 10 simultaneous device connections, and adds AI-powered scam protection, a password manager, dark web monitoring, and 10 GB of cloud storage.
One-year plans used to cost $4.17 per month ($49.99 upfront). Prices now work out at $3.49 per month ($83.76 upfront).
Norton VPN Ultimate
Norton VPN Ultimate is the top tier. It further increases your device limit to 20, and is targeted at families.
It includes everything Norton VPN has to offer, adding parental controls and increasing your cloud storage to 50 GB.
Prior to the change, Norton VPN Ultimate cost $5 per month ($59.99 upfront) for a one-year plan. Two-year plans now cost $4.49 per month ($107.76 upfront).
One-year plans still offered
Norton VPN is still offering one-year plans, with the same features included as the two-year counterparts.
These plans are more expensive than the one-year prices Norton VPN previously offered. Although the upfront costs are less than those for a two-year deal, the difference is minimal and it's far more economical to subscribe to a two-year plan. The monthly costs of one-year plans reflect this.
Norton VPN's one-year plans:
- Norton VPN Standard: $4.49 per month ($53.88 upfront)
- Norton VPN Plus: $5.49 per month ($65.88 upfront)
- Norton VPN Ultimate: $6.49 per month ($77.88 upfront)
How does Norton VPN compare to its competitors?
This pricing change brings Norton VPN in line with the majority of its rivals.
Norton VPN is now cheaper than NordVPN, ExpressVPN, and Proton VPN, with the Standard tier being comparable to NordVPN Basic and ExpressVPN Basic. Each VPN offers very similar features, and all protect up to 10 devices on one plan.
Norton VPN trumped NordVPN and ExpressVPN in our latest speed tests, but the two established names support post-quantum encryption and boast a wider range of servers and locations.
Proton VPN only has one tier of plan, and it's most similar to Norton VPN Plus. Proton VPN costs $0.10 per month more, and has over five times to number of servers Norton VPN does, in around twice as many countries. Norton VPN just edges it in terms of raw speed, but Proton VPN performed better for streaming in our testing.
The threat protection offered by Norton VPN outclasses Proton VPN's NetShield, but Proton VPN is better suited for those looking for anti-censorship features. Both have a Double VPN feature, but Norton VPN includes extra security protection, cloud storage, and a password manager.
Norton VPN Ultimate can't match the scope of features offered by ExpressVPN Pro and NordVPN Prime. However, both of those plans are more than $1 per month more than Norton VPN Ultimate. Norton VPN Ultimate is also more suited to families and includes parental controls – something not regularly offered as part of VPN plans – and can be used on 20 devices simultaneously.
Starting at $1.99 per month, Surfshark is still cheaper than Norton VPN. Although it offers some unique features, across the board it is a little feature-light compared to Norton VPN, but its price reflects that.
No Norton VPN plan comes with antivirus, the security feature most associated with the Norton name. You'll get some threat protection features, but if you're specifically after antivirus, you'll have to purchase it separately.
Norton VPN plans are now highly competitive and good value for money. You can compare plans and see which best suits your needs. If it's not for you, you have 60 days to claim a refund.
