Open‑ear and bone‑conduction headphones have exploded in popularity over the past year, but as someone who only recently experienced this burgeoning headphones category, I know all too well how daunting it would be to make the leap and buy a pair.
Shokz is one of the biggest names on the category, and with good reason — the company's products rate highly in our best running headphones and best swimming headphones buying guides, not to mention our best bone conduction headphones roundup.
Though the products below all come from the same company, each set of headphones is different in its approach. For instance, the Shokz OpenRun and OpenRun Pro are open-ear headphones aimed at runners, allowing them to listen to music while maintaining total awareness of their surroundings.
The Shokz OpenSwim Pro, however, works via bone conduction, and is also IP68 water resistant. And thanks to its 32GB of onboard MP3 storage, you can swim laps and listen to music while you're away from your phone.
Meanwhile, the Shokz OpenDots One deliver the same open‑ear listening style as the OpenRun Pro, but they take a different approach to design — instead of wrapping around your head, they use a lightweight clip‑on earbud style.
If you're intrigued about trying out an alternative to the usual in-ear earbuds, but are worried about spending money on something you've never experienced, you're in luck — Amazon’s Big Smile Sale makes that jump a lot easier, with a handful of genuinely good Shokz deals that let you try the trend without overspending.
They may have been superseded by the OpenRun 2 and OpenRun 2 Pro, but the original Shokz OpenRun are still fantastic bone conduction headphones for those who like to run. They offer 8 hours of listening time, PremiumPitch 2.0+ sound technology and IP67 water resistance.

These open-ear headphones are built for performance, delivering better bass and a super secure, comfy fit for those long runs. Plus, you can take calls clearly, and the open-ear design means you'll always be aware of what's happening around you. Get this deal in Black, Orange or Silver.

If swimming is more your thing, the Shokz OpenSwim Pro 2 are excellent for listening to tunes while doing laps. Apart from being IP68 water resistant, they offer 9 hours of listening time and 32GB of storage for MP3s. And thanks to Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, they're just as good for running.

The Shokz OpenDots One is a sleek, low-profile option for folks who want simplicity, all-day comfort, and great audio without being totally cut off from their surroundings. Plus, it's got Bluetooth 5.4 and an IP54 rating, so it can handle dust and a bit of sweat. Discount applies to both the Black and White colour options.
