Gemini 3 can streamline your life — try these 9 prompts to get started this year
Get organized with some help from AI
As we enter into the new year, powered up by resolutions and determinations to be the best version of ourselves, there is an easy helping hand that can get us to our goals more efficiently.
Chatbots are a fantastic way to get more organized and prepped for the year ahead, and can be like a free assistant whenever you need some advice on a big decision, a confusing problem or just want someone to bounce ideas off.
If you’re not sure where to start, here are nine Gemini 3 prompts that can help you streamline your life for the new year. These won’t just work on Gemini, but can be used on whichever chatbot you prefer.
1. Organize these tasks
Prompt: I am going to give you a list of tasks. Organize them into importance and help me create a schedule to sort them
Sometimes, life can get overwhelming. When you have a long list of tasks to achieve and not enough time to do them, taking a step back and getting some help with it can be useful.
Not only can Gemini help organize your priorities, but it can also offer additional help where needed. If you have a load of emails you haven’t got around to, Gemini can help you write drafts or if you have been meaning to look into a service you want to start using, Gemini can give you all the information on it you need.
2. Build a budget
Prompt: Here is a month of my spending. Help me build a budget and organize my spending to be more efficient
Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips.
At the start of a new year, it can be tempting to decide that this is the time to get your finances in order. If you find yourself in that place right now, Gemini can be a good source to help out.
This does require a bit of openness with the AI chatbot that not everybody will be comfortable with, but if you give it access to your last month of spending, Gemini can give you a summary of your overspends, where you could save money and more.
3. Organize my thoughts
Prompt: I am going to write out a list of my thoughts and feelings on an issue. Help me organize them and understand where my head is mentally
This is a prompt I use often with AI chatbots. When I need to make a decision on something, or can’t get my head around a lot of thoughts in my head, laying them all out and asking for them to be organized can be a big help.
It’s a little bit like journaling, but if you had a magic journal that can piece together the links of your rambling thoughts into something more coherent.
4. Habit planning
Prompt: I want to start [insert habit]. Help me create a plan so I can build this into my daily life
I’d love to say I am great at starting and keeping habits, but that’s just not true. Whether it’s reading more, remembering to water your plants or that daily run you’ve been telling yourself to do, Gemini can be a good way to get your habits sorted, usually through a few simple tips.
5. Explain this concept
Prompt: Explain [insert topic] like I’m 10
A classic prompt that has been used since the earliest days of chatbots. Ask Gemini to explain a concept to you like you are 10.
The benefit here is that it can help you get your head around a subject that seems confusing or complicated. I’ve used this to understand everything from confusing insurance concepts to big ideas in physics.
You can also adjust the age to whatever level of dumbing down that you are after.
6. The difficult conversation plan
Prompt: I need to have a difficult conversation with someone, help me plan how to start that conversation and what I need to say
As horrible as it is, difficult conversations are just part of life. Whether it’s to do with work or a personal relationship, sometimes they need to happen. However, actually knowing what to say or how to handle it can be a challenge.
Chatbots are surprisingly good at giving advice here, offering opening lines and tips on how to let someone down gently.
7. Morning routine
Prompt: Help me design a morning routine that works for me
A good morning routine can be the start of a great day, but knowing where to start is challenging. If you are currently the kind of person who crawls out of bed at the last minute ready for work, this could be a great way to get more organized in the mornings.
Giving Gemini extra details is important to get as much advice as possible. Letting it know what time you need to start work, when you wake up and what your priorities are will help it to best organize the plan.
8. The wardrobe redesign
Prompt: I want to redesign my wardrobe. Ask me questions to help work out my style, budget and preferred brands. Then help me come up with a plan
The start of a new year is a great time to refresh your wardrobe. If you want to start again, or get a better base of clothes, but don’t know where to start, Gemini can help you visualize this plan.
Once again, the more detail you give, the better the response will be. If you’re willing to go the extra mile, you can give example of brands you like and photos of clothes that it can use as inspiration.
9. Build my gym routine
Prompt: I am looking to build a gym routine. Help me plan what I should do by asking me questions on what I’m looking for and how much time I have.
It’s a classic. Starting your gym routine in January is a popular move, but it isn’t always clear where to actually start once you get in there. Gemini can help you design a gym routine, prioritising whatever is important to you.
Giving it your schedule, weight, and goals, as well as your exercise history will be a good basis for it to go ahead and make a plan for you.
