This Might be the Coolest Xbox 360 Case Mod Ever
Master Chief takes out the Xbox 360, and it's beautiful.
To celebrate 1 million Xbox 360 consoles sold in Australia and New Zealand, Microsoft and the David Peachey Foundation are having a charity auction called Konsoles for Kids, where special modded Xbox 360s are put on eBay and the proceeds from the auctions will go towards the charity.
While there some pretty interesting airbrush paintjobs of Russell Crowe and Kelly Rowland, complete with signatures, the real standout so far is the mod job comes from Richard Taylor from WETA Workshop, who were involved in the special effects for the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
It's on eBay right now, but bidders should know that Xbox 360s are region locked. Functional restrictions aside, it's one amazing piece of art.

Someone should make the Xbox 360 into a black monolith like the one from 2001: A Space Odyssey, and create a set around it of monkeys/HAL 9000 or something. If pulled off, it would be kick ass.
Really, exploding parts is not the kind of publicity the 360 needs after such a high failure rate.

So they took a dead 360 and turned it into the art or was the electronic guts coming out the side included before the paint job?

Otherwise, you are better having a console flat to save on the wear and tear of the dvd and from scratch.
MS please hand the xbox360 over to someone at Zalman or Arctic Cooling and get a decent HSF made / fitted - that would greatly reduce the 55% failure rate.
Mod looks cool - still recognizable as an xbox though - we need someone to make a custom designed case

But if they water cooled it made it much smaler and shiny whit glass. And then whit dimons cut out a Halo ring in the glass whit some cool blue diod, made it light up at the right cuts it wuld be much sweeter
