Nintendo Trademarked Zii, Cii, Bii, Oii, Vii Names
How does Nintendo Zii sound?
Yes, we may love our PlayStations and Xboxes, but unlike Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo typically doesn't name its next generation console based on a previous console's title. Sure, the Nintendo became the Super Nintendo, but that aside, it's always been a new name.
So will there be a Wii 2? Given the mass market strength of the name, it wouldn't be a bad choice – or perhaps Nintendo is going with a variation of Wii.
The big news hitting the web today is that Nintendo has renewed its trademarks in Japan for Zii, Cii, Bii, Oii, and Vii. Those trademarks were originally filed in 2006, so it could be nothing more than Nintendo just making sure it had everything covered. But at least now we won't be shocked if the next-generation Nintendo system will have a name similar to Wii.

Nintendo Bii, a game system for everyone...
Haha, that sounds so wrong. :>

Lol, depends on how you say it

And Nintendo64 as probably no relation with Nintendo and Super Nintendo...
What about the Creative Zii?
Wait, what about the Creative Zii?

Sorry, forget Gameboy, Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Light, Gameboy color, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP, Gameboy Micro.
Sure Nintendo don't like using the same name over and over...
What about the Creative Zii?
i was thinking the same thing.
We are the gamers who say Nii!
They left out Pii............
I'm going to trademark Pii............
I am going to trademark the Wintendo Oui, a gaming console for the french.
At the risk of stating the obvious, I'm thinking they are just legally guarding against imitators. Nothing to see here.
I say they should go back to their roots. I want a "Super Wii".

Nintendo, Super Nintendo... didn't copy names their?
and the game system you have to Sii!!! Lol!!
They should have trademarked the named Famicon 9000.
Wii Wii
They'll make a kosher console, the Oii-Vii
What about "Shii"... that's my 'Shii' right there...
Ds, DsLite, Dsi...
Anyone else seeing a theme? Along with the aforementioned Game Boy and Nintendo console names.

Well yeah, but Nintendo is the BRAND name, not so much the system name. There was the N Entertainment System, the Super N, the N 64, the N GameCube, and the N Wii. But you could really consider them to be named, ES, Super, 64, GameCube, and Wii. That's not redundant.
Considering how they kept the console at launch price for nearly 3 years, the next console should be called the $ii
... and Pii? xe-xe... nintendo pii!!!
i still think that they did it because they dont want anyone to have a name closer to theirs and they renewed it because ppl are most likley waiting to that to not be renewed so they can take it its just to cover their backs from the name copyers
I think it's more to stop crap Chinese copies appearing on the grey market with a generic Vii name on it and fooling people into buying it on a mistaken name value.Yes they do exist, just go round crap value shops and there they are.
That's what came to my mind. You can find many cheap knock offs at flea markets with a bad variation of the name.
Wii-kii?
Naaaa... they trademarked those names due to pirates.
Alright, then what about the Creative Zii?
