Burnout 3, Ninja Gaiden and Obscure were no problem. It'll be nirvana for gamers. All you need to do is enable the Dynamic gamma mode in order to brighten the overall level of the image. Whether in S-Video or YUV, we just couldn't stop playing. Connected to a DVI or 15-pin D-sub output, the image of the Windows desktop was perfect up to a resolution of 1024 x 768. As with a console, the Dynamic gamma mode is advisable if you want to play games on your PC. Otherwise, for home cinema use, it's always preferable to switch to theater or standard mode.
The Toshiba MT 200 is really an excellent product in this price range. It has all the advantages of DLP, a build quality worthy of a name like Toshiba, and quiet operation you'll really appreciate during screenings. It's hard to find anything to criticize about this little marvel, except the slightly limited zoom and a remote control that's not really up to the quality of the rest of the unit. If you aren't sensitive to the rainbow-effect phenomenon, the image will delight you, and if you have the possibility of using the MT 200 with a progressive scan DVD player, you'll be getting the best DLP projector we tested for less than $1,300 in some stores.
