iPod Touch Prototype On Vietnam Streets Too
Another Apple prototype has reared its head in Vietnam, this time as an iPod Touch with a built-in camera.
Looks as though the yet-to-be-released iPhone 4G/HD isn't the only Apple prototype making its rounds on the Vietnamese streets. A new video has surfaced supposedly showing the next iPod Touch, sporting a built-in Jabil/Mflex OV2665-6S 2-megapixel camera and 64 GB of storage. There's no guarantee that this is the real deal, however it appeared to connect without problems with iTunes. A label on the back indicated it was yanked from Foxconn, and is #10 of an unspecified amount.
While the device didn't appear to have an installed iPhone OS (although 3.1 was listed in the "About" window), the new iPod Touch booted with a diagnostic tool showing the status of the camera, Bluetooth Nike+, the accelerometer, and more. The demo didn't show anything really spectacular save for the functioning camera streaming images to a small window.
As for possible authenticity of this device, the rear label itself has the marking DVT-1--meaning it's the first Design Verification Test model--where Apple normally places the device storage capacity label. But strangely enough, it also sports the A1318 model number, the same number found on the current iPod Touch (3G) device.
With that said, this may be an old prototype left over from the development of the iPod Touch 3G. Then again, it could simply be a modded device riding the coat tails of the recent iPhone 4G/HD leak. One suspicious clue resides at the beginning of the video when the prototype was connected to iTunes. The software complained that there wasn't enough space on the device to sync the files. Upon closer inspection, the iPod Touch labeled as "alberto brizuela's iPod" only had a capacity of 857.4 MB.
Nevertheless, hopeful fans should reserve any excitement about a possible reveal at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference next month. Typically the company reveals its new iPod models during September, making a June announcement improbable.

What I think is funny is that is exactly what apple does in their forums when they have posts about something they dont like.
However I believe this is an appropriate apple article. The ones I cant stand are about useless apple accessories. Like "Oh look someone stuck an ipod connector on a tree, this is the best thing everyone needs one. Go buy it now." I also cant stand it when they act like the iphone is the best selling smartphone. I had a um friend that had been on here forever and used the site for almost ten years. Called an author on his mistakes about iphone being the best selling smartphone. He didnt do it nice, but didnt use profanity. No warning just banned. PERMANENT BAN!!!!

I couldn't care less about any other severely overpriced Apple products.
But the itouch is a pretty good piece of hardware.
All I can say is, these Vietnamese leakers are quite adept at this!

As far as the actual article goes I'm betting that this is a modified third generation device. Apple usually changes the hardware every two or three generations so the iPod Touch is due for a hardware revision. I can't imagine them going with the exact same look with the 4th generation as they did with the previous three generations.
