3. Shooting Modes
The HP M437 achieves its simplicity through the use of its shooting modes. Beginners will probably appreciate that there are no settings or controls for f-stops, apertures or film speeds. More advanced photographers would undoubtedly feel stymied by all of the automation.

By default, the M437 shoots in the fully automatic mode. As the manual points out, this is a good mode for all around shooting and for those who don’t want to take the time to select one of the specialized modes. In addition to the Auto mode, the M437 supports the following shooting modes:
Close-up - ideal for close up photos of flowers Steady Photo - reduces blur in low light by increasing the effective ISO speed, but images may become grainy. Theater - turns off flash and sounds and optimizes shutter speed Landscape - provides better depth of field and saturation Portrait - uses lower saturation, reduced depth of field, saturation and sharpness Action - uses faster shutter speed to capture motion such as sports Night portrait - uses long exposure with flash Sunset - increases saturation and adds warmth to sunset shots.
Each of these modes is described on the built-in help screens, so you don’t have to carry the manual with you.
