San Jose (CA) - Sun Microsystems released today a preview version of JavaFX, a set of tools to create Java-based Internet applications. The first full version of JavaFX for Desktop is set for delivery this fall. JavaFX for Mobile is expected to debut next spring.
JavaFX lets developers build Rich Internet Applications (RIF), which the company says can be used across multiple clients, such as PCs, mobile and TV. This application brings together 2D/3D graphics, "high fidelity audio and video" and animation. The end result of this development platform, says Sun, is "new content that combines the best capabilities of the
existing Java platform with new immersive media services, which can be securely accessed from mobile phones, desktop browsers, TV and other consumer devices."
This special JavaFX preview is designed for developers to download and play around with, taking peaks at the code samples and tutorials. Sun hopes developers will take it for a spin, creating applications and providing the company feedback.
Components of the package include the SDK (compiler and runtime tools, 2D graphics and media libraries), NetBeans 6.1 IDE with JavaFX plug-in (development environment), Project Nile (exports creative assets from Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to JavaFX applications) and Java Runtime Environment 6 Update 10 beta.

Developer embrace is such a vital step in sucessfull deployment and use.there are plenty of java developers , and providing tools etc would help , but the key lies in the funtionality JavaFX offers and again the actual devices supported . This would make the Java platform more whole as far as information management is concerned .
Of course we as developers have to play with it seriously and give a lot of feedback and stuff.

Sweetness I can finally have 3D Assets integrated into a webpage without the complexity of coding it myself.
SUN is getting all the sweet deals lately, such as a Laser Processor grant.
