Facebook For iOS Gets Video Recording, Voice Messaging

By - Source: Business Insider

Update follows major revamp of Android app.

One month after the update that saw Facebook for Android become a native app, Facebook for iOS has been updated.

The update introduces in-app video recording and sharing, as well support for voice messages. Previously, users could only send voice messages that were limited to 60 seconds in the standalone Facebook Messenger app. Now, though, users don't require the standalone app, with support integrated into the main Facebook application.

The free voice calling feature, however, has not been added to the Facebook app. Elsewhere, Facebook, which is used on 86 percent of iOS devices, has incorporated an improved Nearby tab.

Back in December of 2012, Facebook launched a revamped Android app, which delivered improvements to speed and performance.
