IKEA is mainly known for its flat-packed furniture and clever storage solutions, but is making its mark with its impressive smart gadgets. And if you’re already a fan of the brand’s smart home devices, this will come as good news to you.

IKEA has just revealed 21 new smart home gadgets that are all Matter compatible. This means you can easily integrate the range with your existing smart home devices — via HomeKit, Alexa, SmartThings, Google Home or even Home Assistant.

So what’s new in the lineup? There's three key areas: lighting, sensors and controls — which are versatile to use in any room, and going by its predecessors, these won’t break the bank either. Ranging from attractive smart lighting to useful air humidity sensors, here are just a few of my favorites that I’ll be looking to buy for my home.

KAJPLATS smart bulbs

I love smart lights in my home to instantly add ambiance, and I must say the upgraded KAJPLATS smart bulb range is impressive. It includes eleven variations, featuring a mix of shapes, sizes, lumen levels, and styles — with options for both color and white spectrum. These are also dimmable, which comes in handy when you want to relax and unwind.

What’s more, this smart bulb can fit into any lamp, and I would add this color-changing bulb into my favorite FADO table lamp for just $29. Plus, it will make an eye-catching feature in any room.

And with prices for the KAJPLATS bulb range set to start from £4 in the UK (equivalent to around $5), these are bargain buys.

MYGGBETT Window/door sensor

If, like me, you often forget to close your windows, this is a handy gadget to have. This clever sensor can detect when a door or window is opened or closed. In addition, this MYGGBETT sensor can be connected to a smart system so you can get notifications on your phone.

I'd personally use this for my bedroom, as I tend to forget to close my window at night (and wake up feeling chilly as a result!). This versatile device could be handy for spaces like walk-in closets, where it can also trigger a light to turn on or off. This is definitely another useful gadget I'll be putting in my basket.

Now this problem has happened to me before, when I had returned home to find a pool of water under my washing machine. This handy gadget can detect any leaks in your home and alerts you with a sound, or can also send notifications to your phone via the App.

What's more, it's discreet enough to place underneath sinks, appliances or other trouble areas around your home. I really wished I had this gadget sooner!

When can you buy the new IKEA smart home gadgets?

Sadly, those in the U.S. will have to wait until January 2026 to get their hands on these upgraded smart gadgets as IKEA hasn’t shared the official pricing and availability as yet. Be sure to watch this space for more updates and pricing info as soon as they come in. I certainly can't wait to try these out myself!
