I struggle with kitchen space. There’s never enough room to store everything I need in the busiest room in my home. Instead of everything being tidied away behind my cabinets, my countertops take up the overspill.
However, I know that having a neat, tidy kitchen makes it easier to work in and helps my mindset, so I was delighted when I spotted this kitchen storage solution to help clear up my clutter. The Ofiray-home Magnetic Fridge Shelf, $25 at Amazon, is a real bargain. It attaches to the side of a fridge without any complicated fixings and can be removed and used elsewhere, as needed.
This magnetic shelf is designed to be attached to a fridge to provide extra storage. It measures 11.7 (H) x 13.7 (L) x 7.7 (D) inches and includes a bamboo lid to store items above the wire mesh basket. It's easy to assemble and requires no drilling, while it can hold up to 30 pounds.
Magnetic, versatile storage
This magnetic shelfing unit offers versatile storage with a spacious wired basket and a lid above that doubles up as a shelf. Plus, it comes with four hooks that you can use to attach other essentials, such as mugs, utensils or even a bunch of bananas.
It has multiple uses and could be used to store vegetables or as a coffee station. It’s large enough to house an AeroPress, or a single-service coffee maker, with your pods and favorite syrups all in one place, while mugs can be hung from the hooks.
But this magnetic shelf unit has far more potential than just being used on the side of a fridge. It can be attached to other magnetic surfaces, including washing machines and clothes dryers, to keep your laundry essentials in one easy-to-reach place. And with no permanent fixings, it’s easy to move without leaving any unsightly marks.
What’s more, the Ofiray-home Magnetic Shelf features an attractive design, and the black wire basket is topped with a bamboo board and a metal guardrail to keep items, such as spice jars, in place. And the magnetic fixings can hold up to 30 pounds.
I think this shelving solution is a genius idea and a real space-saver for those where square inches are at a premium, or for those who aren’t confident using power tools.
