It may only be April, but it's never too early to start thinking about thrills and chills as if Halloween is around the corner. Pluto TV is leaning all the way into the eerie side of spring with April Ghouls, a month-long celebration of horror packed with movie favorites, supernatural series and cult genre picks, all streaming free as of April 1.
There are tons of titles to choose from during the event, including movie additions like "Hellraiser," "Children of the Corn," "Paranormal Activity," "Friday the 13th" and "Scream." Plus, you'll find shows like "The X-Files," "Charmed," "Twin Peaks" and "The Twilight Zone." In fact, one of the biggest highlights arrives on April 20, when "The X-Files" gets a full-series marathon on its own channel, with all 11 seasons also available on demand.
But with all these new additions, where do you start getting your ghoul on? We've chosen a few tried-and-true picks that should get you going nicely. Then, keep scrolling to find the entire slate of horror additions to Pluto TV this month. But be forewarned: You may want to sleep with the lights on tonight.

'Hellraiser'
What begins as a search for pleasure beyond human limits turns into something far more horrifying. When Frank Cotton (Sean Chapman) opens a mysterious puzzle box, he unlocks the doorway to a world where the sadistic Cenobites live. Frank's niece Kirsty (Ashley Laurence) ends up solving the box left behind and becomes entangled with the Cenobites as well, which forces her into a battle with the sadomasochistic monsters who want to drag her back to their dimension. That, and a whole lot of meat hooks and gore. There are 10 of these movies, so you'll want to start at the beginning.

'Repo: The Genetic Opera'
This stylized horror musical follows Shilo (Alexa Vega), a teen kept isolated by her father as a biotech empire called GeneCo profits from surgeries and organ repossessions. Shilo has a blood disease inherited from her mother, and she has to stay inside for her own safety, but she wants to see the world, no matter hw bleak. When she meets the GraveRobber (Terrance Zdunich), she learns of GeneCo and a potential cure for her disease. Of course, it's not that simple -- but the songs are catchy and the gore horrific.

'The Ring'
This remake of the 1998 Japanese film "Ringu" is far better than it has any right to be. After watching a cursed videotape, journalist Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts) discovers that everyone who sees it dies seven days later. Naturally, she makes it her mission to uncover the truth behind the tape and its origins, as well as a way to stop the curse and the little girl (Samara) behind it.
