Dark Web Monitor pro scans for more types of leaked personal data

NordVPN says the upgraded feature expands monitoring beyond email addresses to include additional pieces of sensitive personal information.

Dark Web Monitor Pro can now track up to eight email addresses, alongside two credit card numbers, two national ID numbers, and one phone number.

If any of this information appears in known dark web marketplaces, breach databases, or other underground sources, users receive an alert so they can take action quickly.

The update also expands the feature's data sources by incorporating combo lists. These are large aggregated datasets built from past data breaches and stealer logs that combine usernames, passwords, and other personal information.

Because combo lists consolidate data from multiple incidents, they can sometimes reveal exposures that were previously overlooked in individual breach reports. NordVPN says users may receive alerts about older leaks that were never detected before.

NordVPN says the upgrade reflects the growing scale of personal data leaks and the increasing value of stolen information on the dark web. Details such as credit card numbers, national ID numbers, and phone numbers are often traded in underground marketplaces and later used for fraud or identity theft.

According to NordVPN and threat intelligence platform NordStellar, more than 900 million leaked email addresses and 650 million passwords were found on the dark web in 2025.
