Towards the tail-end of last year, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the U.S. announced that it would implement a ban on new foreign-made drones — specifically those made by Chinese manufacturers. The brand that will be most impacted by this is DJI, the global leader when it comes to quadcopters.
When DJI announces its next drone, it might not be available in the U.S. — unless it passes "rigorous cyber and hardware assessments," according to the NSD FCC Covered List Waiver 0126 which was released last month. But just because future drones are impacted, it doesn't mean already-existing ones are too. All the DJI drones that launched last year are still available to buy, so you're in luck, and this might be one of your last chances to get one.
I have flown and reviewed every drone on this list, so I can attest to the fact that they are all worth the money. The DJI Mavic 4 Pro ($2,199) and the DJI Mini 5 Pro ($759), for instance, are the only two drones I've ever given 5/5 star ratings to, and they're both still around, available to buy through Amazon. Read on to find out which other DJI drones you can still buy in the U.S.!
