Foldable phones are typically very expensive, especially if you're buying one from Samsung. Which is why the cheaper Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is such a welcome addition to the line-up. But if the $899 starting price is still a little too much, you'll be happy to know it's already on sale.

You can pick up the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE for $699 over at Amazon. That price gets you the model with 128GB of storage, and saves you $200 in the process. Alternatively, U.K. buyers can pick it up for £749, which is £100 off the normal price. It's still more expensive than the Motorola Razr (2205) all-time low of $599, but it's still a price that could make the performance trade-offs worth it.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE didn't seem like a particularly good deal at its normal price, but with $200 off? That's a bit more like it, especially since you get you enjoy the foldable experience and solid camera quality. Even if the performance and battery could be better.

U.K buyers can save £100 on the cost of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, which is 12% off the normal retail price. That's not quite as big a discount as the U.S. deal, but it still means you get to enjoy the foldable experience for a slightly lower price point.

Samsung is also giving buyers a free 40mm Galaxy Watch7 with each purchase and 6 months of Gemini Pro.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is something of a mixed bag compared to the regular Galaxy Z Flip 7. The lower price was certainly appealing, as was the fact that it came bundled with the same cameras and software as the more expensive flip foldable. But there was a noticeable drop in performance, battery life and build quality.

To the point where our Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE review questioned whether those compromises were worth saving $200 on. But a $400 saving, as we can see here? That's a little bit more appealing, if you ask me. In fact, it's cheaper than most flagship non-folding phones.

So what's good about the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE? The cameras, for one. Not only do they have identical hardware specs to the cameras on the Z Flip 7, the overall quality comes out almost the same. Likewise, you get the same optimized version of One UI 8, with all the AI benefits afforded to more expensive phones. That includes 7 years of software support.

You also get to enjoy that same foldable experience, including the 3.4-inch cover display that's capable of running select apps and widgets. That way, you don't necessarily have to open your phone to get stuff done. It sounds trivial, but that can be a rather useful feature to have.
