7. Cable-TV Mode

In addition to the DVB tuner, the card also features a conventional analog receiver. It is capable of handling input either from the TV cable or from indoor aerials (which are still in common use in rural areas, and some parts of North America without cable.)

Cumbersome: Before the channels can be sorted according to user preference, they must be assigned names manually.

Channel search on cable is slightly faster than with DVB signals, taking only about one minute. However, the channels are not assigned names, so the user has to type them in manually. On the other hand, the user interface of the cable tuner software features settings for additional parameters such as color, color saturation, contrast, and brightness. These settings are not available in the DVB-T part of the tuner software.

Surprising: These settings are not offered by the card's DVB-T receiver
