3. Easy Installation

The installation is just as easy as the multilingual manual promises. The first step is to connect the TV antenna to the card using the bundled cable. For FM reception, the flexible antenna cable connects directly to a dedicated port on the card.

It's all about connectivity

Next, put the card into the PC Card slot and insert the installation CD into the optical drive. As soon as the hardware installation wizard appears, abort it by pressing "Cancel". Start the setup routine from the CD instead, and it will install the TV application and the drivers for the card. The routine lets you choose which partition and directory you want the applications installed into. If DirectX 9.0c is not yet on your system at this point, you can choose to install it next, as it is included on the CD.

User interface for installation

According to Avermedia, the software requires DirectX 9.0c to operate correctly. However, if you think that you can cure jittering or jerky images or asynchronous sound simply by reinstalling DirectX, think again. In our case, the only solution to this problem was to re-install the entire system, Windows and all.
