Rumor has it we'll see an 8 GB version of Apple's iPhone 3GS in the near future.
Screenshots sent to the Boy Genius Report show that Canadian wireless provider and exclusive iPhone carrier Rogers is in the process of reducing inventory of the $99 iPhone 3G and possibly replacing it with an 8 GB version of the recently announced 3GS. If the screen grabs are to be believed, Rogers has already launched the 3GS, meaning they're already on their way to Rogers retail outlets.
There's nothing to suggest that the $99 price tag will remain in place for the 8 GB 3GS, however there's nothing to suggest it won't, so we'll see. Now all we have to do is wait for an official launch date. Anyone interested in the idea of an 8 GB 3GS for $99? We're still of the opinion that it's more the cost of plans than it is the cost of the actual device but let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

It's so they can broaden the appeal of the iPhone as far as price goes. Still, it's the AT&T contract that kills the deal in terms of money.
considering the plan ends up costing 80-90$ a month, the upgrade cost for the total cost of the plan and phone ends up being 5% more for the 16GB, and 10% more for the 32GB. Of course if you dont need the storage you don't need the storage so you might as well save the $100 or $200 upfront cost.
How about a 1GB version for 10 bucks?
The phone needs to be at other carriers. AT&T cannot support every features that the phone offers.

One of Apple's executives announce that they will dissolve the AT&T partnership and it will be available on multiple GSM carriers, simply because AT&T is making the phone's basic functions unusable at times.
