Google Accidentally Posts Video Tour of New Gmail
Whoops!
Google gave us a peek at the new Gmail UI way back in July, but we haven't heard much about the planned update since. However, it appears an official launch is drawing closer, as Google last night accidentally hit post on a YouTube video giving a tour of Gmail's new look. The video has since been pulled, but it is, of course, available elsewhere. Google hasn't yet commented on the clip and the video itself doesn't mention anything about a launch date, so we still don't know when we can expect to see this change put in place permanently.
Check out the tour below and if you like what you see (it's very similar to Google+, in our opinion), you can always enable the beta version via your Gmail's themes setting. A preview of the new UI should be available under "Preview" and "Preview (Dense)."

looks much better
I've been using this UI for a long time
yes..it was an "accident"
yeah, weve heard that way too many times already...
Accidentally my ass lol.
accident (ac·ci·dent) [ak-si-duhnt]
noun
1. an intentional action to generate media headline.
2. a marketing tactic used commonly by technology company.
PLEASE let this be optional.
Accident, my ass.
Woot! I hated the last 'new look' as it wasted soooo much space and didn't make anything easier to look at. Looks like they fixed it in this version; And yes, it looks very much like g+, which has had a pretty good design so far.
Much of their 'redesign' looks like they just reverted back to the previous layout that I am currently using, just with extra features and a better conversation view.
It was (air quotes) an accident!
just like i tell my women after pulling out... "It was an accident baby"
I still prefer a thick client instead of web. Much easier to control (Drap & Drop, Copy & Paste from other Applications), and can easily read offline.
The POP3 / IMAP interface for gmail is patatically slow, and kept me away from it.
Hotmail requires an Adaptor for IMAP, but it works seamlessly with outlook.
They say that it's a mistake, but this is more like a free add campaign to me. So far, so good for google with its free advertisement.
Yeah! It's a free advertisement alright and that is all it is.
Ad break, time for another coffee and loo. BRB
Looks identical to the new Google Docs.
