11. Sony Clié PEG-T675C

The Clié T675C is a step down from the NX70V in terms of features. There is no camera or keypad, but it offers MP3 playback and a high resolution color display (320 x 320 pixels). The 66 MHz Dragonball CPU in this Palm OS 4.1. device delivers a performance that even outpaces the Tungsten with its higher rated CPU. The Clié's energy management, on the other hand, is less efficient: the battery expires after only two hours and 12 minutes. All of the other Palm OS handhelds last at least twice as long as this.
There is a memory stick slot for memory expansion. The memory lock is necessary for playing MP3s, as the player's software doesn't play MP3s directly from RAM. A minus point is that the memory stick is an optional extra (128 MB). The sound quality of the built-in speaker is good and headphones are included for a higher quality sound. The remote control software, which also operates TV and hi-fi equipment via IrDA, is thoughtfully designed.
The Clié T675C costs more than the Tungsten, but cannot compete with the Palm flagship model. The latter offers greater portability, better quality, longer battery life and a Bluetooth module.
