Yes, both 5 and 6!
Firefox 5 has been moved into the aurora release channel, the second of a total of four release stages. Firefox 6 alpha 1 has been moved to mozilla-central and is available for download.
Mozilla currently labels the Aurora releases in fact as "Aurora" browsers with a new logo and the mozilla-central versions as "Nightlies", also with a new logo. The transitions appear to be mainly testing the new rapid release cycle procedure and there isn't much to see for Firefox users yet. Firefox 4 will get the 4.0.1 (Macaw) security update in May before we will see any changes in the preview releases of Firefox 5. Among the key changes will apparently be the integration of the Home button, which will be built into Firefox as an app tab that will hide the Home desktop application for Firefox.
Mozilla said that Home will be offering a similar experience across all Firefox platforms including mobile and enable users to access all their information, including contacts, bookmarks, web apps and sync data via this tab.

So will this install along side a FF4 install, or on top of it like the Chrome channels? Good to see they are following up on the accelerated release cycle.
that is my question too.
FF4, Chrome10, Opera11 work just fine for me now. I'll only use final releases of future versions. With the accelerated release cycles, the wait won't be too long. Majority of web sties don't implement the latest cutting-edge technologies anyway.

I've got both FF4 and "Nightly" 6.0a1 installed.
I was wondering what happened to my "Minefield" until I saw this article.
Good to see that Mozilla is always thinking of the future...
I always go back & forth between IE & Mozilla Firefox,so Mozilla will have it's turn for up to six months soon in one of my XP OS's pc's...
Most probably this pc,since I use this one for going to forums etc...A little mighty might ( MSI H55M-E21,1x2 GB stick of corsair ram in a tiny numan case ) with a big cpu heart ( core i5 680 @ 3.591 GHz ) all controlled by the world famous windows XP Pro x32 retail boxed OS with IE8...Soon to eventually install Mozilla's Firefox 5...
Tom, you gotta do something about these ads... FF4 works just fine for now.

Dude, get with the times man, upgrade that thing to 4GB of Ram and install Windows 7 x64. That thing will haul a$$!
can we stop these spam comments?
Dude, can someone PLEASE get rid of all the ADS in the comments??? WHEW, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! On a lighter note, Firefox 4 is still fairly recent and I even have a few addons and such that don't quite work right yet (need updated versions), so for myself it seems to make the most sense to stick with what I have for now. My $.02 .
why doesnt tom's just implement a Captcha system for anonymous people submitting comments to cut down on these increasingly annoying spam ad's???

Because that would be a brilliant idea... and it's too easy.
I can't understand how (and why) they would be working on 2 different major releases at the same time.

Spam ads are allowed. You don't find a coincidence between the ratings system being taken away at the same time these ads started overwhelming the board?
1. Allow spam ads. make money
2. Do not allow members to vote down ads thus rendering them hidden
3. Shoot middle finger
How about they fix FF4 to not leak memory with hardware acceleration enabled and then we'll see about 5 and 6. I am this close to switching to Chrome.
I have had more issues with the latest versions too. One is not properly closing. Sometimes I will close the browser and then try and reopen it and Windows tells me that I already have FF running. I either have to wait or restart my computer.
Hopefully with Aurora, this will allow less issues/bugs. It looks as if each release will have a 6 week cycle http://www.softwarecrew.com/2011/0 [...] r-firefox/ Hopefully this will help with stability.
Firefox has now two versions in the development Firefox 5 and Firefox 6, been released in different early access release channels. more
firefox is sluggish, it sucks
A lot of javascript routines that work fine in IE 6,7,8,9, Opera, Chrome earlier versions of FireFox do not work in FireFox 4. Have yet to figure out why. As a web developer, this has cost a ton of time and money.
How come the fast push in releases? Are they looking to catch up their numbers to the other competitors to make it look more advanced (Because it really is the most advanced browser, so it should have high numbers!)
