Polaroid Names Lady Gaga as Creative Director
Some CES news comes as such as a surprise, it just makes your day. World, meet “the creative director and inventor of specialty products” at Polaroid, Lady Gaga.

Announced yesterday, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, better known as Lady Gaga, said in a statement that she is excited to be working with Polaroid on these new ventures and, as her father put it, "finally, have a real job."
"The Haus of Gaga has been developing prototypes in the vein of fashion /technology /photography innovation – blending the iconic history of Polaroid and instant film with the digital era – and we are excited to collaborate on these ventures with the Polaroid brand," Gaga, 23, said. "Lifestyle, music, art, fashion: I am so excited to extend myself behind the scenes as a designer and to – as my father puts it – finally, have a real job."
Polaroid products from Gaga will hit retail shelves in late 2010 and the press release gives no hints as to what we can expect from the pop star whose stage shows are known to be incredibly elaborate.
Lady Gaga will be at CES today at 10:45am if any of you are in town and feel like dropping by the Polaroid booth to say hi.
[UPDATE] Added a new picture of Lady G in Vegas. She's bringing new meaning to the phrase 'hat hair.'

What a publicity stunt - of course, at this point, Polaroid needs to do something to remind people that it still exists. Lame.
She's the ultimate booth babe!
Anyone see the South Park Episode titled "Whale Whores"?
Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Poker Face!!
I can't take this seriously.
So what is he going to be doing for them?
So what is he going to be doing for them?
"He", lol.
So what is he going to be doing for them?
Inventing things, apparently.
WTF, seriously WTF???!!!!!!! Madness I say.
All I can say after seeing her picture is GAH.....
{i]Close yer mouth boy an Roll yer tongue up where it belongs![/i]
Dang it!
Where that darn edit button, we could really use one for these posts, specially when we hit the wrong key!
Hmm... "Lady Gaga" and "creative" in the same sentence? Maybe those fine people at Polaroid shook those Polaroid pictures a little TOO hard.

Gotta keep the photographer on a leash then.
Down Boy, Down, GAH.... Lady Gaga is a Client, not a play thing
I think her music sucks. She is a Madonna wannabe..
judging by her videos I'm pretty sure we can come to a conclusion on how she "worked" her way to the top XD
And Kodak products actually get worse, didn't think it would be possible to go any lower.
Is this a tabloid site now?

I think it's ironic to have a celebrity that no-one will remember next year promoting a company that no-one will remember next year.
Go to Google and type in "is" and Google will supply a list of common questions starting with "is". Apparently Lady GaGa is widely questioned to be a man, or a tranny. LOL!
"Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta" with a name like that you already new this kid will have issues. and now they (polaroid ) are going to sell them to us
Wait, next year they come back with an astounding company lip dub as a marketing trick.
I'd hit that...
...with a car.
Weird chick, funny dad.
Shes actually a musical genius. Say what you want about her pictures ect. Definitly not true, but w/e, shes has about 50 songs that have 1m+views on youtube, thousands of record sales, she knows how to make good music. (sales wise)
Just like lil wayne, she knows what people like, and knows how to market it.
Yeah, I think its fair to say that Gaga does know something about how to promote. She pulled off 3 number 1 singles on her first album I think? Don't underestimate her as being just another Debbie Gibson.
Anyways, this is a strange move, but Polaroid itself is a strange company at this point. Trying to rerelease the Polaroid film after 2 bankruptcies in the last decade is going to take some serious creative marketing. At this point Polaroid is exactly the kind of company you expect to see pulling stuff like this.
We'll see how it turns out. I don't think its purely a publicity stunt, cause that simply won't sell cameras. She's the kind of person I could see actually making polaroids sexy somehow.
Just a brand name for more lame Polaroid products... Here's a off the wall idea! Hire someone to design better cameras.. WOW, I know crazy right making better cameras instead of using a celebrity to promote the crap you sell now....
