Black Wii For Sale in UK, Maybe U.S. Next?
The Black Wii is heading to Europe next month.
Good news for Nintendo fanboys in Europe: the Black Nintendo Wii console is heading your way. Based on this link, Amazon will begin selling Wii bundles on November 6, and is currently taking pre-orders. The recommended retail price for the Wii bundle--containing Wii Sports Resort and the Motion Plus Controller--is £179.99, but Amazon has knocked 8-percent off the price, retailing for £164.99 ($269 USD).
For gamers who would rather buy the boring white version, Amazon is still selling the bundle for £179.99, making it a bit more expensive than the black version. However, to sweeten the deal, Amazon is throwing in an option to get two free, select games when buying this bundle from Amazon. Of course, there's also the non-bundled version, costing Amazon shoppers a meager £142.99 with Wii Sports included.
For gamers in Germany, Amazon will begin shipments of the Black Wii on November 20, costing fans EUR 209,99. This version isn't a bundle, but rather the console packed with Wii Sports. Amazon is also selling black accessories separately, including the Motion Plus and Nunchuk.
Gamers in the UK will also be able to purchase Black Wii accessories in local retail shops beginning November 20.

Why can't I get a lime green wii? That would entice me to buy. Too many entertainment units are silver or black.
A console being released in black?! Well this is an exciting new development which I doubt ANYONE has thought of before.
It makes me wonder when console makers will make up their minds on whether people want light or dark consoles. Nintendo started with more neutral (NES) then lighter, (SNES) dark, (N64) then... I don't even wanna guess. (GCN) Sony started with light (PS1) then went to dark (PS2) and stayed there. (PS3) Microsoft... Started dark, (Xbox) and switched to light. (X360)
Granted, I feel the obvious solution is to have both available. Personally, I'd prefer black, since white/pale units invariably stick out like a sore thumb in my entertainment center. but of course, others feel differently. Plus, of course, I think a lot of people are irked that Nintendo HAD all those shades of Wii casings displayed before console release, and then just only produced the white ones.
All this suggests that Nintendo's probably more confident that the production will be able to meet demand this season. It makes me wonder... Might the "upgraded" Wiis be around the corner? I mean the ones with more than 512MB internal flash memory, perhaps DVD movie playback, and possibly 802.11n support.
And I just bought the regular white wii and my girlfreind would love the black one, oh well, its not like I would stomach paying more that what the wii used to cost to get it and the new bundles.
Once you go black...
Oh, never mind.
