Nintendo Launches Bigger DSi, the DSi XL, in NA
Nintendo may have announced the 3DS last week, but this past weekend, focus was on the DSi XL launch in North America.
Most of the DS-related news last week was centered around Nintendo's plans for a 3D version of the handheld console. The company announced the 3DS last Monday and promised more information at E3 this summer. However, this left a lot of people wondering what would happen to the DSi XL, that had yet to hit retail shelves.
The DSi XL launched yesterday in North America and although the device has done well in Japan, it seems as though the revelation of the 3DS has overshadowed the launch. With a 4.2-inch displays and a larger, pen-like stylus the handheld costs $190 and comes preloaded with two Brain Age games. It's not a bad deal but it's hard to justify $190 (or $200 in Canada) if there's a new DS coming out in the next 12 months.

This would be great when it goes to the used market when the 3ds hits.
IMO if it was priced at 150 new or lower CAD, then it would actually interest me.
Jumbo shmumbo, new handheld please? As in, one that still doesn't use components from 2004? k thx
I want DSi XXXL
10" screen please.
Bigger screens are cool and all, but what we really need is a handheld with enough horse power to run a homebrew PS2 or Gamecube emulator.
I want DSi XXXL10" screen please.
PC emulator. Nuff said.
New larger screen, same outdated slow hardware driving it.
Looks nice, and will prolly reduce eyestrain, but still:
Those colors are CRAP!
Who doesn't like a LARGER experience?
This will be a good buy for those who do not have a DSi, or any DS. Otherwise, this is the same old outdated machine with a new coat.
If they put gba support back into it, no problem, I wouldn't mind having a portable gaming device with a big screen.
PC emulator. Nuff said.
Nahhh, not until tessellation works for em
Game Vendors scramble to purchase 3DConsole.com
...............................................
A record-breaking domain sale is expected to lift suppressed dot com prices as major game vendors scramble to purchase 3DConsole.com prior to the launch of the worlds first 3D console by Nintendo in June of this year.
The auction is currently running at Sedo.com and industry experts are suggesting a 5 to 6 figure sale, which would be a very welcomed boost to this one time booming industry.
